Orangish yellow body with fluffy white head. Smells of clove, citrus and wheat. Taste is a little tart, smooth on tongue and shows more of the asaid wheat, clove and citrus tang. Pretty good white, certainly more creamy than most. Very good.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2004 Bottle...date coded..best before date, instructions on how to pour and temp recommendation of 4 degrees Celcius. Poured a nice hazy pale milky straw color with a medium frothy cap that stayed in place for some time . Naturally carbonated...very lively in the glass with a constant stream of bubbles streaming up the sides of the glass . Wonderful mellow aromas of citrus peel, spice and fragrant wheat malts. Starts peppery-tart but then mellows into a silky mouth feel punctuated with the sweet-sour tastes: citus peel, coriander, crisp wheat malt tartness...excellent on the tongue. The finish is a prolonged affair where the sweet and sour tastes duke it out and the malt leaves an impression of soda crackers and lemon peel...very nice finish. I can now appreciate the reputation this grand daddy of witbeirs enjoys. There are different and some more flavorful whites but it’s hard to improve on Hoegaarden’s straight forward delivery of the main characteristics that define the witbeir style. Reevaluated 24/7/04..on tap at EJ's this draft version really exemplifies the cloves and dry finish....served in the Hoegaarden draft tumbler glass the head stayed longer....very tasty and refreshing 100% better than bottled

Cloudy golden, large white head. Smells a bit soapy and florally. taste is pretty much the same, with hints of wheat, but heavily soaped without being bitter. Not a huge fan of the style, but it’s not bad.

Bottle. Nose is very yeasty and raw. Pours a dense one-finger head on a straw yellow cloudy body. Body looks like lemonade. Taste is very yeasty and wheaty. It tastes quite raw and unrefined. There is a flavor vaguely reminiscent of suntan lotion. There is a spice/clove taste on the finish. I don’t know. Not really my cup o’ tea. I like everything about it except that lotion like taste. The only other Witbier I have tried is New Belgium Sunshine Wheat, and it seemed to have alot more character.

On tap at the Beer Sellar in Nashville. Great golden color with white head. Floral aroma. Citrus flavor with some clove. Not my favorite, but ok. Fairly palatable. Like most Belgians, deserves a second try.

Flowery aroma. Great yellow color with lots of sediment. The flavor is a touch spicey with a real wheatiness. This beer has mild amount of carbonation and a slightly sticky aftertaste. Overall, this is a nice beer to sit back and enjoy.

A great Belgian White. Aroma is slightly citrusy and when poured it comes out cloudy and light orange in color while it supports a nice pure white head. If you get the chance try it.

Bottle. Pale cloudy golden color with a big white head. Yeasty aroma with a bit of spice and green apples. Big wheat flavor with citrus, corriander and a nice mouthfeel. Clean, but there is a hunt of an aftertaste.

What a nice surprise to find this one on draft in NY’s Kennedy airport at a little place in Terminal 2! Poured cloudy, light yellowish color with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity, slightly sour, citrus and spice. Flavor is pleasant, tart, yeasty, wheaty and spicey. Medium body and lively carbonation. Very pleasant.
