Unfiltered Belgian White, flavored with coriander and orange peel, creating a sweet & sour taste.

Notable coriander aroma over citrus that to me smells largely of orrange and faintly of grapefruit. Cloudy pale appearance that is entirely distinctive and very pleasing to look at, with a large frothy white head that dissipates quickly but that leaves heavy lacing. Bready but crisp flavor with a spicy tang that lasts. Medium-light body that is refreshingly dry. Overall, a delightful summer beer and equal to, if not greater than, the sum of its parts.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2004 Hoegaarden white is the standard for Belgian wheat beer. Pleasant, delicious, and satisfying.

Now thats a Wit! Large white head, mediocre retention and a nice lace. Big fruity nose, citrusy, pungent. Hazy gold with a classic white background. Light body, excellent carbonation with a neat creamyness. Citrusy, light malty/bready flavors, vegetal flavors also. Sweet, but not overly. Finish is fairly dry. A joy to drink. Been a while. A classic.

Hoegaarden is in the taditonal style of Belgian Wit Bier's. Served in the appropriate octoganal glass there is a nice shine to the hazy yellow beer. A nice froathy head sits atop the beer leaving a traditional Belgian lace all the way to the bottom of the glass. A zesty corriandor orange peel aroma dance across the sparkling head. Fruity in flavor, very refreshing.

This beer pours a pale cloudy whiteish yellow with a gigantic white head slowly dissolving to a sheet of lace, exactly how a Witbier should. The aroma is orange, spices and wheat. Flavour is wheat, citrus, coriander, and is well malted. It's smooth, clean and refreshing. I think this beer gets a bad rap because it's so readily available and so drinkable. Good beer doesn't have to be undrinkable by your average person. Though I will admit that it doesn't hold up nearly as well out of the bottle.

Good in bottle, better on tap. Nicely spiced and very refreshing. Not as substantial as other beers in the category, but a good solid choice nonetheless.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2005 Oh so sweet and tasty! This is actually one of my favorite beers. Incredibly easy to drink with a great combination of fruits and spices.

Had this on tap at Cooter Brown's in New Orleans. A delicious ale to drink with oysters on the half shell. Milky white golden in color. Aroma belies the coriander and curacao flavors. Very very sour and I like it. Perhaps a slight anise detected? Bon Temps Roulet, dude!

Belgian whites arent my thing. The taste is too mild and the fruityness is overpowering in such a light beer.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2004 on tap in a hoegaarden tumbler. creamy white head that thins quickly with very little lacing. cloudy yellow color.
