2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 MexiFinn (54) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAY 22, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2011 I must of originally had a bad Vegas sun-burned re-re-fridgerated 6-pack, tried it again, as it looks like everyone loves this stuff.... and this stuff is really, really pretty sweet, ginger-bread house taste and all... seriously, if want something completely different... this is it.

It’s my favorite witbier with a nice color and a very citrus aroma. Fresh beer for a hot day.

This beer has a delightful golden haze. It has a good sweet wheat smell. And it has a great traditional wheat taste.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 chaz01 (190) - Miamisburg, Ohio, USA - MAY 14, 2010
Draft pint glass served in Hoegaarden glassware. Cloudy yellow with a thin creamy head that sticks around a bit. Lemony wheat, grass and hay aromas. Citrus lemon flavors with some spices -- coriander, pepper, cloves. Crisp, clean light bodied, good carbonation, dry lemon yeasty finish.
Easy to drink, good summer session beer, although it wasn’t as good as I remembered. Pair well with a lite summer dish on the patio.

I’ve been drinking this beer a long time now and it tastes a lot different to me now than it did eight to ten years ago. It was about the same time that they changed the label from a square yellow to the newer metallic circle that I noticed the change. I’m not sure if that’s psychological or if there was a real recipe change, but I like the older beer significantly more. I’d probably rate it closer to a 3.8 today. This rating is the older beer.
Pours light yellow with a nice fully aromatic citrus head. Taste is lemon citrus, light wheats, coriander lemon and orange zest and light spices. Rated 2/2/2000
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 williamherbert (1041) - Syracuse, New York, USA - MAY 11, 2010
That cloudy blonde color and head are unmistakable Hoegaarden. Thirst-quenching.
Light banana/orange scent. Citrusy and perfect for summer.
The bits of coriander add a kick to this otherwise very smooth beer. Goes down so easy and light, almost like lemonade. But has a surprisingly thick presence on the tongue. Definitely a fruit-flavored wheat. Very "wet" compared to some other witbiers (Victory Whirlwind, Middle Ages Swallow Wit, e.g.).
Slightly fizzy feel on the way down. But I could drink these all day, though it’s so mild that I might need to have something strong to mix it up. Also a very good "initiation" beer to those not so inclined toward malt and hops.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Shrews629 (193) - Kentucky, USA - MAY 11, 2010
The appearance was very cloudy and looked like a mixture of pear and pineapple juice. Poured a very white 1 1/2 finger head that dissipates very quickly to leave a thin ring. The smell was very sweet, fruity with citrus and slight lemon and wheat notes. The taste was not real strong and slightly fruity and almost tasted like flat lemonade. The mouthfeel was medium/thin, smooth and somewhat watery. I could see myself enjoying this beer more in the summer, obviously, but probably wouldn’t be my first choice when choosing a wheat beer.
