Delicious white beer. Pours an extremely light yellow or even a white yellow with a nice thick white head that clings to the glass. Aroma is great with a nice wheat and hay. Taste is of wheat and extremely smooth. Delicious!

Smells like some sort of cleaning agent. Tastes like an orange peel. This is what Blue Moon is supposed to taste like.

Pours a very hazy light yellow, almost white. Lively palate, fresh and drinkable. Not much of a nose to it, but this is wit so all is forgiven. :-) Pretty standard in the ways of the style, but then again it is such a classic that the taste has become a reference point for other wits. I think Hoegaarden does, however, lack some of the refreshing sourness otherwise abundant in the genre (which I like) but still retains a very nice blend of citrus tones and wheaty, grassy flavor. A light beer for quaffing in the sun, no doubt, and a good alternative to the traditional "summer lager".
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 bluebetty (820) - AUSTRALIA - APR 1, 2010
Bottle. Pours a light straw colour with a large very dense white head. Huge cirtus aromas followed by plenty of wheat malt and bready yeast. Spices come through as the beer warms with coriander and perhaps a little cinamon. Flavours are slightly tart thanks once again to the citrus and wheat malt. Plenty of spices coming through near the finish. Great beer and style the best example of the style in my opinion.
