rbod (25), Davie, Florida, USA May 26, 2008 Not sure if I can rationalize the 88% that Hoegaarden has on this website, but it is a very smooth light Belgian beer. Very drinkable. mattmc1973 (301), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA May 25, 2008 11.2 oz bottle, pours quite clear, my wife noted it looked like "white grape juice". Foamy white head that dissipated fully. Aroma of coriander, orange and lemon peel, floral scents. Taste not very strong, citrusy and spicy, with a crisp, dry mouthfeel. Thirst-quenching and is a decent beer. GangGreen712 (44), Woodstock Valley, Connecticut, USA May 24, 2008 Medium head, very light color, clearer than most ales of its type. Very dry and less citrus-y/fruity than I was expecting. Not my favorite, but okay nonetheless. Gusgus (176), Mölndal, Sweden May 24, 2008 Updated: Apr 29, 2009Bottle 080510. Medium sized head. Very light, grayish green-yellow color. Hazy, almost opaque. Spicy, herbal aroma of coriander, oranges and yeast. The hops comes through perfumy and soapy. Medium to rich palate. Very soapy, herbal and perfumy in a not to natural way. Nice oily creaminess and a very dry aftertaste. THis was a big dissapointment, since I always used to find this beer as the perfect example of a belgian witbier. Now it is really chemical and weird tasting. I guess this is the reason they’re moving production back from Jupille to Leuven. 8/5/4/4/11/3.2
Re-rate 090428. Bottle. Pours hazy white with a creamy head that goes away quick. Aroma is very sweet, like honey, with some herbal notes and typical Saaz-like hop aromas. Also a hint of cooked corn and barely perceptible spicy phenolics. Very soft and orangey mouthfeel, quite sweet and almost oily. Quinine dryness in the finish. Much better than last year, but still not as complex and outstanding as it used to be. 7/4/7/4/13/3.5 agl108 (503), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA May 23, 2008 On draft at Borgata, Atlantic City. Poured hazy, straw yellow. No fruit added. Spicy, citrusy, with notes of coriander. Easy drinking, classic summertime beer. crowderm (275), Recklinghausen, Germany May 23, 2008 Not the greatest looking beer, pale, light yellow, with a solid white head. The aroma is of mild citrus and spice. The flavor is slightly sour, nice citrus and spice notes. Light, crisp mouthfeel. Very nice, this might be the most refreshing beer I’ve ever tasted hoppopotamus (182), Santa Cruz, California, USA May 22, 2008 A cloudy pale straw yellow with a good-sized head that XXXX. The aroma is a tart citrus and other light fruit with strong Belgian yeast notes and spice. The flavor is a tad underwhelming: the citrus is still there, there is a spice that I’m told is coriander. A tad watery on the mouthfeel. All in all, a very refreshing beer with character for a hot day, but nothing I get too excited about. kurtkosher (144), USA May 21, 2008 i had this out of a 12 ounce bottle. it pours a very light yellow color with a huge white head. it as a spicy citrus taste
