blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA May 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Fruity aroma with lemon, orange, and spices, almost clove but not quite. Medium body. Flavor is similar to the aroma, more nutmeg is present, still lemon and orange. Very nice, drinkable and refreshing. There’s a reason this is among the top ranking witbiers. corby112 (671), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 9, 2008 Pours a golden yellow color with thick foamy white head. This is a legendary standby witbier and although it is not as complex or good as other witbiers it is still awesome. sirPino (855), Zawiercie / Żywiec, Poland May 6, 2008 Updated: May 9, 2008Rated: 23.04.2008
Bottle brown, 330 ml
Appearance: Pours very bright yellow like water with honey, cloudy, hazy body with storng influence of yeast floating in the body texture, its really the brightest beer I’ve ever tried, head is clean, snowy white, extremely shiny white, frothy, thick, regular in structure, leaves considerable traces of lacing. Its preety good in deed, the longevity of the head is very good, head being quite small initially decreases to its about 50% and than last for a long time, body carbonation is medium. The contrast between body and head is outstanding. The beer in the originall glass makes the great impression.
Aroma: Yeasty, white bread, grainy, wheaty, malty sweet, dough, sweet bun, milk, whipped cream, flovery, sweet aromatic, hoppy nose, powder sugar, very nice and inviting, alcohol is well hidden under the complex fruity- bready, grainy aroma and under a thick head, lemon, lime, banana, orange, orange peal, coriander, somer other interesting spices.
Flavour: Very complex flavuor, at front you can feel mineral nose, yeastyness, accidity and metallic touch, later on its easy to recognise creamy beer texture and on the other hand sour and accidic taste, in the aftertaste there is the explosion of grainy- bready taste, wheat, malted barley, flour, dough, peanuts, coriander, vanilla, banana, orange peal, aromatic and gentle flowery- perfume hoppy nose. On pslste towards sourness, no bitterness, clean and perfectly balanced and very complex flavuor. Finish duration is medium to long.
Palate: Body is light, texture is creamy with accidic notes, carbonation on palate is quite lively but beer is smooth though, finish feel is grainy.
