Bottle looks very simple. Beer in the glass light, small head. Fruity aroma like lemon. Starts very mild, gets more and more fruity, a bit sourish. Prickly finish, a bit washy. The aromes promises something that the beer cant keep.

Hoegaarden is more than just the place where a pimp grows his workforce. Along with Guinness Draught, this is one of the best widely available beers out there. Nice whitish-yellow color with a white head. Light fruits on the aroma. Smooth and refreshing white beer with banana and clove flavors. Smooth palate, very refreshing.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2009 12 oz bottle from The Airliner (Iowa City, IA). I’ve had this before, but never rated. Poured into the appropriate glass. Pours an extremely light champagne-esque yellow that is lightly clouded with an extremely prominent bright white head that is inviting. Smells of wheat, coriander, and citrus. Initial taste is light, a nice sweetness that has its moments of flair. Wheat, orange, coriander, and some other mild spiciness make this a very nice, albeit light, selection. A great Wit!

Fine, fine Belgian. Pours with a nice, frothy head and a yellow body. The nose immediately give away hints of the yeast, citrus, and orange to come. Palate is slippery, and the taste is almost just like the nose. A bit sour in the finish. Good stuff.

This Belgian White poured a large invigorating white creamy head with fine-small bubbles. The lacing was sparse on the sides of my glass. The body was a cloudy yellow. The aroma was fruity in my opinion and it had a slight bitter taste to it. I truly enjoyed drinking this brew while it lasted, right thedm?? This brew went down way too smooth!!

On tap at the Winking Lizard Columbus world tour finisher party. Pours hazy yellow with a medium white head. Banana, clove and wheat nose with a bit of citrus. Flavor is the same. Not my style.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2011 Cloudy pour, rich head. Tastes similar to a hefeweizen but could have been better. 3.0
RE-RATE 5/1/11 Bottle from Central Market. This beer pours a slightly hazy/cloudy light yellow color with a fizzy white head. It looks very nice in my official Hoegaarden glass.

The aroma is lots of Belgian yeasty notes and bread with additional scents of orange peel and citrus. There is also a bit of spice which can be attributed to the coriander that was used while brewing. Smells nice.

The flavor holds similar elements to the smell. Orange peel and light grains fill the flavor, with a light touch of spice. The coriander is not overbearing and has a nice balance. I like this beer a lot.

Aromas of orange and spice. Flavor has too much orange, I didn’t care for this beer much. White beers aren’t high on my list.
