Had my first one on tap in an Irish Pub in Paris. Larger head than typical from a bottle, and much fresher tasting than what is available locally. Nice balance of citrus and coriander. I have yet to taste anything close to this. Probably my favorite beer when I can find it on tap. From a bottle it just doesn’t seem as fresh and I often get a metal aftertaste.

Sets the standards in wheat beers. Pale golden in color, with a fruity, bread, wheat aroma. Great flavours of banana, citrus and yeast. Great beer to relax and kick back.

Hoegaarden is synonymous with summertime. Wherever indulging in this blond elixir, it’ll put a little sunshine in your day. This is the hallmark of white beers.

The aroma is full of cereal maltiness an bread. The appearance of this beer is one of it’s best qualities. It has a ghostly, hazily pale color. The head is gorgeous and full of beautiful belgian lace, and takes up a fourth of the glass. I am normally not a wheat beer fan, but the sour/sweet taste is wonderful. The body is light but satisfying, with a moderately thick texture, and highly effervescent carbonation. Utterly delicous.

Serving Size: 12oz Bottle poured into a pint glass
Appearance: Nice white head with a little staying power and little lacing. Very hazy, very light yellow almost white in color, like a banana creamcicle.
Aroma: Strong wheat scent with some orange and honey. Smells very refreshing.
Taste: Very crisp with good carbonation. Nice earthy taste that isn’t overpowering but rather smooth. Finishes with a nice citrus flavor and a little honey.
Feel: Carbonation that tingles in my mouth with a medium body.
Overall: A really nice beer, goes down very smooth and refreshing, like a nice summer afternoon. Definitely would recommend this and will pick it up again sometime.

Simply my all time favourite. Tried tons of white beers and this beats them all. Stylish, refreshing, inspiring: you can’t say you love belgian whites if you never tried the classic Hoegaarden in its traditional giant glass!
