Hoegaarden is one of the rare beers that's easy to find, yet consistently very good. The appearance is typical of a Belgian witbier...cloudy yellow, not much of a strong point. There is also no head to speak of. However, the beer tastes great, smelling of coriander and lemon mostly, it tastes great (spicy, citrusy) and it has a very good, bracing nose to it as well. What Hoegaarden really has going for it is the tang when it hits your palate, however. The mouthfeel and lingering aftertaste of Hoegaarden are quite unique, and always enjoyable.

Full of clove, floral, and citrus flavors. To me the aroma and color were both very unappeasing. Not one of my favorites.

Good citrus flavor with a yeast and hop flavor to balance it out. A good light witbier.

Not bad at all, for what it is. Definitely one of the only beers with widespread distribution I’d be caught dead with. Tad lemony bouquet, floral taste without a hint of bitterness. Miles ahead of, say, Allagash White, but I’d still prefer a tumbler of St. Bernardus Blanche.

Hoegaarden wit is the most popular white beer available in the Netherlands, and maybe even worldwide. 33 cl bottle bought at the local supermarket. The beer should be served cold, preferably on a warm summer day, with or without a piece of lemon. Poured into a Hoegaarden glass. The beer pours a nice cloudy (the beer is not filtered) golden yellow colour with a large thick, creamy white head. Scent; citrus, spices, wheat (grainy) and yeast The taste is good, similar to the scent, although the nose is slightly stronger than the taste. Tastes like sweet citrus, more wheat and it has a light spicy aftertaste. Not too deep. This white beer is one of the more sweeter ones currently available. Mouthfeel: Light and drinkable, very refreshing, a bit high carbonation In general, a nice and refreshing beer for a hot summer day. A bit sweet, a classic, but still one of the better white beers out there.

Smooth and rich taste. Floral and fruity aroma, with a subtle hint of banana. Very pale golden, cloudy. light sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour. Overall, quite enjoyable.

fat foam, not clear. not so much coriander, more fruit, banana flavours. tastes bitter, sweet. A classic, but victim of mass-production.

It has a soft ending and a very light body. It has a vanillanish taste and not very heavy. Soft taste.

Cloudy appearance. Yellow in color. Not pleasing to the nose, not as bad as it smells. Tried this at park lane as part of a sampler.
