Although it looks kinda scary it tastes great. It has a good bready yeast smell to it as well.

Very light with white head, cloudy with a bunch of crap floating in it. Sweet, hoppy aroma. A little salty and bitter, with a sweet aftertaste. A hint of pine in the taste, but not great on the palate. It’s about average in my book.

Bottle. Pours very light yellow. Somewhat cloudy with a completely diminishing white head. Nose is lemon, orange, coriander, and wheat. Taste is light citrus with sublte spices. Medium body has a nice chewiness to it. Crisp mouthfeel and a short finish. Very refreshing, but I could use a bit more in the flavor.

Appearance: The head is a beautiful frothy white head but it disappears fairly quickly. The body is a nice cloudy lemon-aid color. Nose: strong lemon notes; slight hefe-weizen yeast/banana notes; Taste: lemony and hops; mild banana and hefe-weizen yeast notes; carbonated bite; Finishes with a creamy balance of bitterness and lemon and hefe-weizen yeast. Mouthfeel: carbonated, creamy. Overall: It may not have the prominent delicious flavors of certain other wheat beers, but it is still very refreshing, a great summer beer, and one of my favorite go-to session beers because it is cheap, delicious, and widely available. It goes down incredibly fast and I often drink 4-5 bottles without even realizing it.

750 ml bottle into a hoegaarden glass. Can be quite volatile, the white head must be tamed with a slow, controlled pour. The beer is a light golden/straw colour; cloudy, but still possible to see straight through. Aroma of citrus lemon and earthy herbs. Taste is pleasantly sweet, with a mild bitter edge. It is quite tingly on the palate with carbonation being plentiful. Very refreshing and widely available.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2014 Hoegaarden is great because it?s a beer unto itself. There?s little else like it. A cloudy, light gold wheat beer with a ferocious head. Tastes sweet, packed with light orange but there?s some satisfying creaminess there too. It doesn?t rate as an all time great, and here in the U.K it can be overpriced on tap, but it?s complex, refreshing and never disappointing.

Nice from bottle but even nicer on tap, very refreshing and the orange and spice come through well with being too strong ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2007 Very nice. Very light and crisp. I could drink a million of these. God bless Belgium. Cloudy, almost white pour. Spicy/citrus aroma and taste. The quintessential wit.
