From bottle pours a cloudy yellow, medium size white head that leaves quickly. Looks like lemonade. Odor of citrus and cranberry. Has a sour taste thats not balanced well with some bitter or sweet. Thin mouthfeel. I guess its just not my type of beer

12 oz bottle: Pours a cloudy yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is that of a weissbier; fairly sharp with a hint of citrus. First taste is very different than I expected. Full of flavor, fairly spicy with a hint of orange. Not quite sure how much I like this one, but it grows on you the more you taste it.

Iím happy with this beer. I donít normally like fruity flavors but the whole package just sits well with me. Nothing stands out on itíís own here. Everything is balanced and combind to produce a very good beer. I like this a bit on the cold side. I have nothing negative to say about this beer. Itís not my first choice but it certainly will quench your thirst.

Lemony gold with foamy white head. Smells of banana, coriander, citrus, stonefruit, grass and earth. Tastes of banana, apricot, lime, mandarin, coriander. So good for 3 bucks a stubby.

Birra bianca per eccellenza: dal colore giallo paglierino, torbido e velato, presenta una schiuma persistente, fine e profumata di scorze díarancio. Fresca e dissetante, molto beverina.

Pours a very pale hazy yellow coloured beer with a foamy white head. The nose is very perfumed with notes of orange/citrus with some spice and a hint of yeast. Fruity in the taste and more citrussy notes. Finishes with a thick sweet maltiness. This beer is great.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy pale gold. Thick white head with lots of carbonation in it. Smells of cirtus, especially lemon and orange with a small hint of spice. The dominant flavors are orange and lemon, with a bit of clove, also a mix of sweet and sour. Finishes sour and stays with you. Body to me is light but creamy. Average carbonation. Very good.

Clearly there are comments from folks that do not understand or appreciate beer styles and the potential for variation in regional styles from around the world. The Belgian Wit is a very unique beer style with a strong spiced character and varying degrees of yeast flavor. Classic Hoegaarden (things are beginning to shift due to Unibrue ownership and corporate influences) is a world-class beer. The tangy and tart character of the yeast and coriander infusion, combined with a creaminess from heavy carbonation and generous raw wheat and oat adjuncts makes it clear that this is not your ordinary beer. Just as Anheuser-Busch makes a world-class American Premium Lager, Hoegaarden is the exemplar of the Beligan wit style. That does not mean you have to love the beer, but it does a great job of being what it is supposed to be.
