A great white beer. A standard setter in Europe and reason enough never to drink the American imitations...

Hoegaarden is one of the rare beers that's easy to find, yet consistently very good. The appearance is typical of a Belgian witbier...cloudy yellow, not much of a strong point. There is also no head to speak of. However, the beer tastes great, smelling of coriander and lemon mostly, it tastes great (spicy, citrusy) and it has a very good, bracing nose to it as well. What Hoegaarden really has going for it is the tang when it hits your palate, however. The mouthfeel and lingering aftertaste of Hoegaarden are quite unique, and always enjoyable.

Real lite and subtle flavor. Crisp and has a little fruity flavour, sweet to the taste but needs more kick. I could dink a pint of it but wouldn’t get a sixer.

Full of clove, floral, and citrus flavors. To me the aroma and color were both very unappeasing. Not one of my favorites.

Good citrus flavor with a yeast and hop flavor to balance it out. A good light witbier.

Bottle and Draught. Reasonably tasty thirst quenching beer, some fruit and wheat notes. Great look on draught foamy head with the palest lemon yellow colour.

Not bad at all, for what it is. Definitely one of the only beers with widespread distribution I’d be caught dead with. Tad lemony bouquet, floral taste without a hint of bitterness. Miles ahead of, say, Allagash White, but I’d still prefer a tumbler of St. Bernardus Blanche.

I love a nice wheat beer, but Hoegaarden just seems a little off to me. I don’t like the sour touch which gets in the way of the typical wheaty cereal flavour of a regular wheat beer. A lot of my mates will drink it but I’ll take most other wheat beers ahead of Hoegaarden anyday.

Smooth and rich taste. Floral and fruity aroma, with a subtle hint of banana. Very pale golden, cloudy. light sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour. Overall, quite enjoyable.

Cloudy appearance. Yellow in color. Not pleasing to the nose, not as bad as it smells. Tried this at park lane as part of a sampler.
