3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The original, had to try it finally after having a few beers that try to be Hoegaarden. Turns out ones like Allagash white do a pretty good job of emulating this beer. Pours the normal suspecting white style with a big foamy head. I taste the coriander notes, but it’s not overwhelming which is good. I also tasted that citrus tang that is to be expected. Everyone’s had this, it’s good, but not great. Glad I’ve had it a little later in my beer tasting adventure since it would have struck me as a little more fascinating at my earlier beer drinking stages.

one of the best white beers Belgum has to offer. Strong coriander taste, smell is very crisp. This beer compliments almost any food. Color is very pale and cloudy, with a nice foam top. The coriander leaves somewhat of a nice after taste.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This beer is not just ’called’ white beer it literally is a WHITE beer. It pours a slightly off white color and has white head with a very short retention. Quite heavy lacing.
Smell: Very potent! Yeast, Lemon, citrus rinds and wheat fill your nose with lots of strong pleasant aromas.
Taste: The taste is similar to the smell. It is very active. There is a significant spicy hop character creating the flavor of cloves lemon peels and pepper. It is not overly bitey though, because the cool watery center carries a light yeasty sweet whit bread character through your mouth washing the tart citrus away as quickly as it developed. Mildly interesting but overall average for the style.
Mouthfeel: Something about the mouthfeel creates a strange stall for me. This beer is somewhat smooth but just before swallowing it stalls for a moment. Basically it does not slide down easily. I am not sure if it is the peppery character of the beer or the hops but it tickles my throat causing me to need to think about swallowing it. Strange.
Drinkability: This beer feels cool and refreshing in the mouth but did not seem to finish smoothly. It may have just been me today so I will try it again. For now I will say it is a fine Witbier and suitable for a hot day.
Hope this is helpful.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sept. 4, 2006; 12 oz. bottle. Hazy, whitish/yellow pour with respectable head. Light & citrusy in flavor, lacking the malty balance you’d expect from other styles. The Belgian styles (light or dark) aren’t my cup(s) of tea, but I’d imagine this as a pleasant summertime beer that even a macro devotee might enjoy.

Bottled. Pours yellow/orange with quickly dissapatimg foamy head which leaves some lacing. Wheaty, citrus aroma, big lemon. Very Flavour is super clean generallly but begins a little metallic before mellowing into orangey niceness. Smooth. I could sink a few of these happily but fairly non-dememo as Whites go. Nice but nothing to get excited about.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2009 Poured a murky light yellow with medium head and light lacing. Nose of citrus and spices. Mouthfeel is creamy but a little cloying. Flavors of citrus and some hops but mostly sweetness. Bitter finish. I think it is the coriander that makes this taste a little odd Drinkable, but nothing more.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A hazy, golden yellow coloured beer with a thick white head. A light, wheaty, tropical fruit aroma, typical of style, but lacking somewhat. The taste is dry and wheaty, biscuity, plus the typical banana and mango tropical fruit flavour as expected. There is also a hint of clove spice in the background. The finish is dry. (Bottle - purchased from Tesco, Fakenham, Norfolk for 85p. a bottle).

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap, hotel bar, Pittsburgh. Pours a cloudy yellow body under a fizzy white head that faded to a thin covering that lasted for the duration. Nose is fruity esters of banana with some lemony citrus notes. Wheat, coriander, and light pepper. Flavor is light wheat with a little banana and yeast. Very light spicing present. Pretty refreshing if nothing else. Mouthfeel is light bodied and a little thinnish with light soft fizzy carbonation. Nothing spectacular, and pretty light on the flavor. Easy to see why everywhere has this on though, very non-offensive to those new to craft beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cloudy straw color. Nice solid white head. Complex aroma yeast, fruitness, corriander. Flavor is extremely light, almost watery, upon first tasting. But a little bit deeper there is orange, slight bitterness, bright hoppiness some maltiness. I don’t think that this is quite the same beer in the bottle as it is on tap.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2008 Tap at The Globe, Copenhagen. Hazy yellow color, white head. Citrus/orange, coriander, almost no hops (but that´s ok in this one). Very drinkable, much better than almost any pilsener.
