If this is coriander and orange why doesn't it taste like Sunshine from New Belgium. I taste banana.

The staid commercial version of the recipe Celis gave back to a Belgian commercial brewery. This definitely cuts corners on the Celis White recipe.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2005 Bottled. Aroma is citrus, coriander, sweet wheat malts. Cloudy, white/yellow color, white firm head, good lace. Light sweet, light bitter, coriander, citrus, medium body. Hoegaarden used to set the standard for Belgian white and now it’s just a standard Belgian white.

Mild wheat smell, opaque yellow. Tastes nicely bitter, soft spicey flavour. Very good.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2011 Bottle... It’s pale, but then again, it’s a wit; Albino beer. Is it good? For the style, I guess. Mostly water and fizz though. ’Nuff said.

Being a white guy, I thought it appropriate for me to drink a white beer. A somewhat unique flavor, but I don’t know if it’s the best kind of unique. Kind of sour initially, but the aftertaste reminds me of a pacifier that might have been used by Rory Calhoun at sometime or another.
