UPDATED: SEP 18, 2009 I don’t like this Inbev product anymore. Light in color, refreshing, mildy citrussy. The wheat is definitely identifiable. Also a hint of an herbal aroma to it.
Re-rated after taste @ Hoegaarden Kouterhof, 06.09.09.

Bottle. Pours a pale yellow color with a thick billowing head. Lots of carbonation. Aroma is citrus and yeast. Peppery beginning with a ting of metallic flavor along with more citrus flavor. Its very crisp and light and finishes dry with a hint of hop bitterness. Body is very light. Not my favorite style but appears to be well built.

Kinda stings the nostrils, with some limited citrusness. Color looks aight, and the flavor is crisp, just unremarkable. Lemony finish makes this one aight, but no comparison to St. Bernardus Blanche.

Light transparent with huge white head. Aroma of sweet bananas, Belgian yeast, wheat bread, citrus fruits. There is more banana in the taste, as well as a tart tone (from wheat) and a mouth-cleansing fizzy carbonation. Very typical Belgian wheat beer - a little industrial in its appearance. When Hoegaarden is cold and the sun is warm, it’s a refreshing drink. But it seems dull and simple before you reach the bottom of the first (small) bottle.

Bottle from a friend. Sour banana aroma. Very anaemic cloudy pale yellow brown colour. Flavour dry sour banana and citrus fruits with a hint of spice. Smooth but not great.

Normally I do the needful and give carfull consideration of my favourite area of world for beer to come from that of Belgian area.... I drink the Hoegaarden with expectation for it to be another beer to enjoy with my louis Prima LP record and time spent with best girl. That is when the expectation is not met with the needful. I like for special beer to have some sort of flavor but this is not so. it is like when you are with a woman of which you expect to have glorious butt cheeks, you have dinner perhaps - now understand all you have done is seen her but not up to the close area....and she is of ethnicity that has reputation for glorious butt cheeks - like say brasil or africa or even spain in europe possibly italian when young and not hairy and extra large yet in life...so as expected, with belgian beer - wheat beer, i expect glory and flavor like divine recipe of chimay or even duvel but what happen is that it is all not true!!!! analogy is woman who you expect to have beautiful glorious butt cheeks that shimer with beauty in the moonlite AND DONT - is much like beer expecting to have strent and flavor but do not!!! like putting on Louis Prima record expecting glorious voice but hear Nicklebacks or Ke$$A or some other inferior object of noise. I do not like this beer.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2012 (ON TAP) I was at the Thirsty Lion in Portland, OR. This was a very weak beer. Just a notch or two under the average Wit. There is a watery taste to this beer with a light flavor of coriander

330ml bottle poured into frosted glass. Loosely foaming head quickly expands but dissipates in minutes. Only the thinnest of lace! Colour is very murky yellow (Lovibond 2) - hate to say it, but reminds me of a urine sample. At least a pleasant odour of oranges and flowery hand soap wafts up.
Tastes slightly sweet but turns pungently acidic soon after swallowed. Also, coats the tongue and mouth with a chalky finish. Carbonation is very low. Very disappointing after seeing such good reviews here on it.
