Bottled. A nut-brown beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of wheat and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, wheat, and malt, leading to a dry wheaty finish.

Bottlshare at Mr Smith’s pad. Thanks to Fergus. Hazy amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth and has decent fine carbonation. Sweetish malts, a touch of cream. Tangy ripe fruits before a sweetish light finish. A tad on the sweet side but enough here to amuse.

Bottle shared in W2 - thanks to Fergus. Pours lightly hazy amber with a creamy, tan head. Rich berries in the nose, plum, fig, dates, some town bread, yeast. Medium sweet flavour with more rich bread character, grapes, berries, dates. Medium bodied with average carboantion. Bready finish, with ripe berries, figs, dough, also toasty wheat. Tasty beer. Pretty well balanced.

Bottle, courtesy of Papsoe. A more or less clear one, copper-colored and with a beige head. Caramel and dried fruits in the aroma, some lemony fresh fruits and of cours banana. The flavor has mostly banana and caramel, with some lemony notes and a touch of lemon. Low on bitterness and spices. Medium body, effervescent. Caramel and banana in the finish. A decent one, but really boring. There’s lots of better dunkelweizens than this one. 100813

Koelschtrinker (16330) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 21, 2011
8/11/12/11/11/11

Bottle at Bespin, thanks to the Watford Deutsch Projekt, 14/04/16. Chestnut brown with a moderate beige covering. Nose is toffee, light peppery spice, clove, yeast esters. Taste comprises banana bread, toffee, clove, brown sugar, dates. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent enough German affair.
