Poured opaque with the slightest hints of red-brown around the edges. Super thin beige head with a steady stream of barely visible bubbles. Looks pretty boring at first sight. Nose is sweet brandy with rich banana overtones and something candy-like. Interesting and unexpected. No real alcohol smell. Taste starts sweet, quickly changes to rich dark fruits (plums and figs) followed by cherries. Turning sour then a little bitter. Finish warms up as the cognac becomes apparent. Lingering aftertaste is warm cognac with a little bitterness. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy and a little sticky - not as thick as I had expected. Overall, this is a pretty solid beer. I would happily drink it again. It would probably get old if I had it too often though.

Bottle share at craft. Pours opaque dark brown with minimal head. The aroma has plenty of cherry, wood, caramel. The taste is sweet cherry, very flavorful. Big fan despite the simplicity.

750 mL bottle, thanks Alex for sharing. Murky red-brown color, small light tan head. Very red-wine-like. Medium-full body. Flavor is sweet, grapes, caramel, nearly no alcohol noticeable. Bit on the tart side. Not bad but wouldn’t buy myself.

Dark brown with minimal tan head. Aroma rich roasted malt, wood, yeast, caramel. Full body, Touch of carbonation. Some alcohol but not too intrusive. Flavor off-dry. Brown sugar, coffee, bit of hops, oaky finish. Pretty complex, and very good, but point off for price as it was quite expensive and can get similar qualities for much less.

Bottle pours dark brown with minimal tan head. Vinous aroma with some oak. Taste dark fruits, grapes, candi sugar, cognac, oak. Really improved as it warmed. Slightly thick palate with alcohol burn. Oaky finish.

I enjoyed this largely because the underlying Belgian ale was very good and the barrel aging served to enhance it. Drink at cellar temps.
