Poured opaque with the slightest hints of red-brown around the edges. Super thin beige head with a steady stream of barely visible bubbles. Looks pretty boring at first sight. Nose is sweet brandy with rich banana overtones and something candy-like. Interesting and unexpected. No real alcohol smell. Taste starts sweet, quickly changes to rich dark fruits (plums and figs) followed by cherries. Turning sour then a little bitter. Finish warms up as the cognac becomes apparent. Lingering aftertaste is warm cognac with a little bitterness. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy and a little sticky - not as thick as I had expected. Overall, this is a pretty solid beer. I would happily drink it again. It would probably get old if I had it too often though.

26-NOV-2015, 2014 bottle @Yespr tasting. Almost clear, no head. Cognac, Brown sugar, touch of cardboard. A Little tart - or did I not rince my glass after the The Bruery, Terreux Beret? Sweet, standard Belgian Strong Ale stuff. Not bad - just not worth it.

Bottled. A red-brown beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, alcohol, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and alcohol, leading to a dry alcholic finish.

Bottle sampled at yespr. Clear chestnut brown with a small off white head. Nose has wood, caramel, alcohol, flowers. Flavour is not that interesting; wood, caramel, light paper, dark bread, dark fruits, cherries. Medium/full body, oily texture, lively carbonation, some sweetness, warming alcohol. Not rough, but no wonder either.

Bottle share at craft. Pours opaque dark brown with minimal head. The aroma has plenty of cherry, wood, caramel. The taste is sweet cherry, very flavorful. Big fan despite the simplicity.

750 mL bottle, thanks Alex for sharing. Murky red-brown color, small light tan head. Very red-wine-like. Medium-full body. Flavor is sweet, grapes, caramel, nearly no alcohol noticeable. Bit on the tart side. Not bad but wouldn’t buy myself.
