3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Corked bottle, courtesy of Jesper
Cloudy light amber color; frothy and short lived head. Some smell of yeast and vegetables, light caramel. Highly carbonated; some malt flavor, with light aniseed flavor, boozy, some residual sweetness, traces of vegetables. Problematic brew.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
I had heard about this project and even wrote about it on my blog because at $20 bucks a bottle, I didn’t expect to taste it so I was psyched to see it on the Vendome list of tastings. Poured a super murky light brown. Not appetizing looking. Not much aroma and the taste was quite fusel. I think it was too young. Very hot. I do hope to try the others though.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled from 75cl bottle thanks to Joes. Murky yellow-orange color, small off-white head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma has alcohol, liquor, some sweetness. Taste lightly malts, liquor, some sweetness. Great balance, lovely beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sample at local tasting @ Brouwerij Oirschots Bier. Clear golden colour with a small white head. Smells quite alcoholic, nuts, wood, glue, nailpolish. Tastes wood, hazelnut, almonds, slightly alcoholic. Quite a strong one, fizzy carbo, dry mouthfeel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750, corked and baled. Pours a murky dark amber with a gigantic surging sudsy whitish head. Big sweet forward explosive sticky yeast and juniper nose, very intense. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Caramel and juniper mid palate, big gin finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Hazy dark yellow to light brown with a big foamy off white head. Sweet green apple, pear, and grape aroma with strong juniper and gin notes and a hint of oak. Burnt caramel, apple, and grape aroma up front followed by spicy and woody juniper flavors and finishing with hot alcohol. Bright buttery palate. Good but a bit too pricy for what it is.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Gene bought me one of these at Paradiso Dupont. On tap. Pours a murky orange with some thin white head. Nice flavor, almost like lemoncello, some yeasty esters, light candy, kaffir lime. Smells a bit like a cocktail. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly astringent, lightly spicy, herbal, citrus, over ripened fruit, booze. Full, herbal, astringent finish. Very unique, and a beer for cocktail drinkers.

Draft. Cloudy orange amber color, huge cream colored head. Aroma of vanilla, apricot, dates. Taste is softly sour vanilla and summer fruit, slightly bitter finish. Very nice.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2012 750ml bottle shipped from Belgium, split 6 ways
A: Thick off creme head. Cloudy copper.
N: I swear this smells like bad tomato sauce. A whisp of sharp ethanol.
T: More tomato paste. The sweet bready maltiness of the Belgian pale. Caramel, toffee. Lots of alcohol.
M: Medium and fluffy.
O: Not a fantastic thorough review for a beer that’s pretty mediocre and not tasty. Like spaghetti-o’s.
Edited to reflect that I ’overrated these’.
