COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brew N°1, Limited edition of 1755 bottles

The first beer made in our new oak aged gamma has been aged on Belgian Gin barrels. The aroma searches a balance between caramel, toasted bread and some fruity aspects such as apricot and plum. Also there is some form of spices, tasted as pepper and safran. The taste itself is mainly exotic fruit flavours, cassis and caramel. We end with a pure beer taste with a royal dose of heating alcohol.

Draft @ Novare Res. Hazy amber /orange color without any head. Aroma of oak, musty basement, odd malt notes, sugar and fruit.

Flavor is yeasty and grainy. Apricot and light sour peach notes. Gin gin barrel gives a little kick of alcohol in the finish. Body is medium with a chewy texture. Soft carbonation. The alcohol is here without a doubt, nice warming sensation after the sip. Overall this has a level of complexity. Pretty good.

Bottle 750 ml at home, as Barrel Aged Project 2013 - Brew No 9 Jenever, ABV 12% A dark orange golden colour on the body, darker than the other two I had. Off white head, a bit taller than one finger, with average retention. Light lacing left around the glass and a quite thick layer of foam on the beer’s surface. Aroma of sweet peaches, apricot, sugars, light alcohol. Taste follows the aroma, lots of peaches and apricots, light yeast, very alcoholic. I can’t notice any of jenever notes but then again I don’t drink it that often, maybe I’ve had it twice since I moved here. It gives this burning feeling on the stomach though once it’s there like the jenever and/or tequila. Medium thin body, high carbonation but without being annoying, certainly less than the other two. Overall this one was also enjoyable, better mouthfeel but less taste.

75cl bottle at home. Shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: clouded blonde/orange beer, small unstable head. NOSE: sweet, too much alcohol. TASTE: too much alcohol in general. Not really enjoyable...

Had this one after a gueuze... 750 ml bottle - pours cloudy dark orange with a tiny white head. Very sweet all in all with a high alcohol burn. BAM. Somewhat I dig the sweetness well, but there is not hing more than alcohol and heavy honey aromas and flavours. Pity.

75 cl. bottle – THX! to Kraddel for this one. 1755 bottles made. Bright very reddish amber, creamy, smaller but solid white head. Cheap white spirit comes through very heavily in the nose, light sweetish flowers, touch caramel but hard to pick out anything below the spirit. Jenever taste with fresh wood barrel blended with lots of sweetness, alternative grains HtD style, lots of spices, strong white spirit, herbal spirit blended with strong alternative grains dominates, agreeable but not the nobles of spirits here. Lightly creamy, touch less carb. Well it is exactly as promised but needed either higher quality, execution or Jenever is really not the spirit to go although I have had a successful execution by a different brewery so far.

Bottle at Bier Abbey. Medicinal notes, floral, juniper aromatics. Sweet malty base beer, touch of fruity yeast. Interesting concept, looking forward to trying side by side with others of series

On tap. Pours with a hazed golden hued body with a large white head. Aromas are of apple, musty, some juniper, some malty notes, lightly rustic, tannic, pear skins and baby food. Flavors are boozy, cotton candy, bubblegum, boozy gin, lightly sweet. Carbonated, medium body, very warming.
