3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Corked bottle, courtesy of Jesper
Cloudy light amber color; small frothy and short lived head. Light aroma, light caramel, with a very light spirit presence. Highly carbonated, with mild malt flavor, mild residual sweetness, and a light alcoholic touch that can be cognac; light traces of vegetables.
The alcohol hides some flaws.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
In bottle at Craig’s. Pours a golden colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of cherries, marzipan, candy sugar, caramel and alcohol. Similar flavours with moderate carbonation, light CO2 prickle and a foamy mouth-feel. Quite sweet with lingering cherries and almonds again.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle at Craig’s. Clear golden orange, gushing white bubbles fade to a soapy cap. Rich nose, cherry bakewell, marzipan, big sweet almond, definite apricotty cognac, treacle, toffee, slight booze. Nice sweet malty caramel, definite cognac again, slight Belgian yeast character coming through too. Long sweet boozy finish, more marzipan sweetness, just the tiniest hop bitterness. Definitely a sipper, and a tiny bit too fizzy, but lovely all the same.

M: Medium-heavy. Some alcohol.
O: Better than the Jenevar, but mostly in the nose. Fun to try these.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750, corked and baled. Thanks c! Barely corked--twist the wire and you have a bazooka. Gigantic fluffy offwhite head. Sheeting lace. Huge sweet cognac nose with a little bit of sweet vanilla oakiness. Some pale citric yeast esters there as well. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Butterscotch, caramel, sweet grapey vinous cognac, and mild esters on the mid palate. Soft finish.
