3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cream-coloured head over copper-amber, at first faintly hazed beer. End of bottle solid yeast. Parsley and other fine garden herbs; delicate caramel nose. Brandy, alcoholsweetness, but also a tad buttery. Bitter finish, rather vegetable. Warming up, warm grain taste. Alcoholheat, very slick, at least medium bodied. Good, if still a tad crude compared to similar foreign tries.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ RBBSG II. Courtesy of Dave. Pours a dull, cloudy light yellow/brown with a small off-white head. The smell is big fruit, caramel apple, booze. The taste follows the nose - smooth and delightful. Mild carbonation, medium body - it is smooth and silky. Really nice stuff.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a hazy peach/brown. Seems quite carbonated. I can’t place what it taste likes. Sweet. Alcohol warmth afterwards. The barrel is a bit subtle, but not really a negative as I was expecting it due to the low timeframe of aging.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle split @ CBC Clerkenwell. Another thanks to Kenny for yet another Dormaal! The pour’s gold with a small head. The nose full of armagnac, wood. Full, sweet marzipan. Caramel. The taste is more marzipan and caramel. Musty yeast. A bit of tart cherry. Quite sweet, bordering on sickly. Moderately hot finish. Full body, fine carbonation. Overall, despite being sweet as all hell, this isn’t too bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle split at Craft Clerko thanks to Kenneth - the 4th from this series for me in less than 60 hours and the least impressive, 08/07/13.
Hazy orange amber with a thin off white head which quickly dissipates to spotting.
Nose is booze, bitter orange, dark fruit, woody tones, sour apricots.
Taste comprises harsh booze, dark fruits, toffee, orange pith, oaky notes.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, dry boozey warming alcohol in the finish.
Drinkable but glad to be splitting this one with others! Alcohol is just too harsh and not well integrated.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
8th July 2013
Craft Clerkenwell tasting. Hazy amber beer, big fluffy pale cream coloured head. Light dry palate, mild carbonation. Alcohol dryness. Little dried fruits and surprisingly wishy washy brandy. Dry finish. This one feels a bit clumsy and not well joined up.

Full bodied with lively, creamy carbonation. Warming finish with sweet tangerines, oranges, light dry dough. Decent overall. Reasonably drinkable for 12%.
