COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The different flavors of this beer are manifested in a sublime order to achieve a harmonious yet complex taste sensation. Besides the instantly recognizable dry sherry flavor there also is room for the fresh and spicy scents of vegetative raw celery and a green pepper character. This follows in subtle fruity aromas of peach and candied apricot, with an undertone of tea extracts. Finished with a nutty touch, reminiscent of broken walnuts. The mainly fresh flavors that make up the smell of the beer are masterfully supported by more robust flavors. In the flavor we can find the typical duality of balsamic, compromise between sweet and sour, and finally conclude with a notion of liquorice. But this story is not over; the aftertaste brings a perfect marriage between alcohol warming and soothing sweetness.

Draught Small white head over orange, hazed beer. Sweet, oranges. Difficult to pinpoint sherry, but its fruitiness might well point into that direction. Sweet, meaty, liqueurish. Feels/tastes as if some syrup was used. Finish has a bit of walnut(syrup) in it. Very viscous, well-bodied, slick-syrupy feel. Walnutflavour keeps hanging around; warming. Interesting, but I’m not sure whether the fact that I cannot mark the sherry is a good, than well a lesser thing.

75cl bottle. Dusty aroma of cellar, wood, sharp alcohol, sweet, fruity, port. Sparkling, amberblond beer, offwhite head. Starts fruity, loads off alcohol, wood, extreme sweetness. Dusty aftertaste, and a lot of sweets. Special, but a bit too sweet imo.

taken from notes - 750 ml bottle at sloshfest 2012 - overly sweet beer. This one has notes of port and some forest fruit. The rest is taken away by all the sweetness and alcohol... Pity.

75cl bottle. Appearance: long lasting head. Nose: malt, caramel, wood and of course lots and lots of sherry. Taste: very very sweet, not that much alcohol noticeable (for 12%), bit oily

Bottle shared by brew3crew. Poured a hazy golden color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate sweet fruit and wood aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good soft beer.

750 ml caged and corked bottle. Served in a chalice, the beer pours an orange/amber color with about an inch and a half off-white head that stays around for a while. There’s also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is very sweet, it smells like sherry, dark fruit, honey, bready malt and some hay. It tastes like honey, white grapes, plums, orange peel, bready malt, peppery spice and some sherry. The sherry is much stronger in the aroma compared to how it tastes. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit creamy and is well carbonated (maybe a little too much). I think it’s a solid brew, but it’s pricey at $16.99 a bottle.

On tap. Pours with a hazed golden hued body with a white head. Aromas are metallic, slightly oxidized, grape, malty, estery, nutty. Flavors are spicy, fruity, toasty with some oxidized/sherry qualities. Some good carbonation, medium yeasty/belgiany feel (more so than the others). Medium to low body, and of course quite warming.
