There is no difference between this beer than the orginial except the original doesn’t claim to be an oktoberfest! What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I even argue with the bar owner that the keg must be mislabeld.

Oct 5, 2008 12oz bottle: pours a light, straw-yellow with foamy white head. Able to detect some malt in the aroma but it was over-powered by a corn syrup smell. Some nutty malt in the initial flavor but it dulls into nothing more than a macro lager. Not what I expected from an Octoberfest-Marzen style.

Oct 5, 2008 (Bottle @ Stag’s Head): Body is a very clear yellow, body, extremely pale yellow. Foamy white head, lasting-ish. Malty aroma, nutty almosct grass-like. Malty taste, nutty, lawn-like. Some fizziness. Not good.

Oct 4, 2008 Pours gold into a stein. Bright white head quickly recedes to hug rim. Cookie aromas. Crisp with upfront sweet malts and a dry, hoppy finish.

Nice lacing. Golden and sparkly. Fresh, bready aroma is quite full, sweet and only slightly toasty. Slightly toasty palate with a nice bready character. Sweet, slightly creamy body. Off-dry finish.

Oct 4, 2008 On tap. Poured a medium gold color with a smallish head. Can I say it is refreshing to see an authentic colored fest beer in the US. Some bread sweetness in taste but it is mild. Very well balanced and very drinkable.
