It’s hazy dark brown with a creamy head, and the aroma is rather mild with notes of caramel but also a little fruit. The flavor has a light/moderate sweetness and notes of roasted malt, caramel, light citrus and the finish is slightly dry.

Brewed to celebrate 500years of Aventinus (Johann Turmair "der Abensberger" who was a Bavarian writer of history and was born at today’s Hofbräuhaus in the cenre of Abensberg). Clear dark mahogany colour, mid-sized beige head. Malty-fruity nose. Malty base with hints of roasetd malts and caramel, shy but very nice hoppy flavours combined with some citrusy hop flavours and a touch of apples. Very nice Dunkel!
