EithCubes (3340) - GERMANY - APR 20, 2012
Bottle by 08.02.13. Light chocolate and roast in the dusty nose. Chestnut with red highlights and a sudsy tan head. Thin, watery body with a medium acidic tang along with the roast and mocha, faint nuts under the vomit and red berry, sharp and not too enjoyable.

Zusammengefasst ganz lecker.

A solid, tasty dunkel that felt like a session-beer for the century. Smooth, malty, but not too sweet.

Dark coppery colored with little and thick brown head. Nutty and roasted aroma with sweet aroma, nice aroma indeed. Medium bodied, smooth palate. Flavor is also nice with nuts dominating, aftertaste lasts with decent hops, grains and nuts. Excellent dunkel.

Bottle (Merci, Jonas !) Deep chestnut-amber coloured, mid-sized slightly lacing stable tanned head; dryish caramelly-toasty nose with a nutty touch; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied, soft MF; a chocolatey touch shows up in the malty-caramelly finish. Very good Dunkles.........

(bottle) Clear, dark chestnut colour with a medium sized off-white foamy head. Light-sweet roast-malty aroma with caramel and notes of chocolate. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a medium carbonation. Dry toast-malty taste with caramel flavours; bitter and minimal sweet toasty finish. A solid Dunkel (26.08.08).

StueyD (666) - Heacham, King’s Lynn, Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUN 5, 2007
A cola brown coloured beer with orange-red flashes and a thickish white head. A strong malty nose, nutty, coffee and chocolate. The taste is bitter, somewhat sour, malty, again, bitter dark chocolate and coffeeflavours, the sourness gives the taste a burnt orange like flavour (Gasthof Neuwirt, Halbergmoos, Germany).

Huge fine & dense cream-yellow head over red-shot amber-brown beer. Caramel, dark malts and a bit vinous nose (which is rare in German beers). Also an aroma as from ivy leaves. Dry, leafy taste, old but wet brown bread, and a pinch of caramel at the end. Surprisingly little sweetness. Long dry, woody finish. Dry but medium bodied at least. No new aftertaste, finish goes on long enough. Quite good Dunkel. Products from this brewery seem to vary quite a lot, in my (limited) experience.
