A light, golden beer, with a weak white head. A discreet, hoppy aroma with hints of malt and wheat. A dry, wheaty flavour, with traces of the floral hop and malty elements from the nose. The finish is again of dry hops and wheat. Bottle, purchased from Kaufland, Freising

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass is very zippy, nice head. Starts strong, quite moldy from the beginning, grasy. Modest hoppy-dry background. Finish spicy-grasy, a bit sourish. Nice beer!

Tap at the Brauhaus - 29/04/12.
Slightly clouded yellow to gold with a thin white head.
Malt and wheat on the nose .
Malt and a little spice also present in the taste allied to background hops.
Medium bodied soft carbonation. A good notch or two higher than the standard helles which I’d drunk previously.

Small white head, some lace over metallic golden beer with lazy carbonation. Pale malts, bit creamy-vanilla, but also garden herbs. Very discreet. Very dry (certainly for an Export) initial taste, going over in grain and somewhat sweeter (very) pale malts. But every new sip brings out again a hoppy dryness to start. Maybe some artichoke flavour. Actually, this is quite balanced. Light to medium bodied, not empty, not watery, just - OK. Somebody ought ot go and tell them in Freising. The Export is the one that is a tad sweeter. The nice bitterness, that’s the Pilsener, the Kellerbier,... yes? In the mean time, I’m keeping this, OK!

Bottle (donated by joss !) Sweetish grainy nose, some aromatic hoppy spots detectable; golden coloured, big white fluffy head; sweet flavour, some delicate bitterness next door, light to medium bodied; short, but aromatic sweet-bitter finish. a very pleasant Helles, far above average..........

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 badgerben (4253) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - DEC 18, 2006
Bottle. Clear gold color with no head. Grainy aroma with just a little bit of yeast-derived spiciness. Very light grainy taste with a sweet body. The most light bit of hops on the finish I could still actually detect. Nothing off about it, but nothing really going for it either.

Malt and spice flavors. Golden. Balance is ok but has a watery finish.
