Pale yellow color, small white head. Grassy, papery aroma. Citrus hoppy, slightly herbal and sweet flavor. Light palate, not very malty, but kind of refreshing with those citric notes. JorisPPattyn (4500), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 3, 2007 Good, whipped eggwhite head with a yellowish colour over metallic golden beer. Bit of ureum and a lot of sulphur... H²S... Fortunately this proves quite volatile, leaving an equally stunning nose of roasted chicken meat... I can nearly smell the heavy paper bag it came in. Taste gives an, again, sulphur tainted grassy flavour. At least the chicken’s wandered off... It is a peculiar taste. Pale malts present, finish is a bit citrussy. Quite refreshing, despite all remarks, very light body. Well... after some time it seems to revert to a (normal) beer. Still, it remained a bit unsettling. pivnizub (3900), Porúří, Germany Sep 26, 2006 Bottle (with the best regards to joss!) Straw golden coloured, lively carbonation, firm, creamy white head; fruity-grainy nose with a delicate hoppy touch; mild sweet-bitter flavour, rather light bodied; short hoppy-fruity finish. Decent Helles ! bierkoning (4932), La Tropica, Netherlands Aug 11, 2006 Golden color. Strong malty aroma with orange. Malty, doughy flavor with more than touches of soap and orange. Pretty low on hopbitterness, although there is some lingering in the aftertaste. Promising start, mediocre finish. Café Bozner Mittenwald. StueyD (590), King’s Lynn, Norfolk, Norfolk, England Jul 4, 2006 A golden, straw yellow coloured beer with a frothy, but weak white head. A light, weak nose, slightly metallic, floral hop. The taste is dry and refreshing, initially wheaty, then the floral, citrus zesty hop flavour. The finish is dry and zesty. (Bottle - purchased from Walmart, Freising, Germany during our recent trip over. Drunk it whilst watching the World Cup semi-final, hoping it may bring luck to the German football team, but didn’t!)
