The Hofbräuhaus dunkle is a very smooth dark beer. The aroma is faint but the taste is great I detect a hint of molasses which gives the beer a sweet taste Overall I think this is a good beer and would recommend it to everyone

Mass at the Hofbrauhaus in Munich. Very dark brown with a nice foamy head and served in a glass HB glass. This looked good, and smelt pretty good too, though dominated by the malt. A drinkable beer in interesting surroundings, but ultimately a bit plain.

A nice average dunked overall. Pours a beautiful deep red with a white head. Smells sweet, malty with some peach. Taste is quite malty, with some caramel and vanilla. Sweet finish. Had in tap at Lowbrau.

50cl @ bottle. Scura tedesca trovata al supermercato. Tutto sommato una birra discreta, bell’aspetto, beverina, forse un po’ troppo amara. Birra estiva.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Harvest Market, Bedford NH. Aroma is basement yeast over toasted malt. Appearance is nice clear amber reddish brown with finger-width off-white head with fair retention, minimal lacing, and nice sparkle. Taste is moderately sweet malt balanced with light bitter. Palate is medium bodied with medium texture and lively carbonation. Finish is abrupt. Overall, a decent beer across the board without blowing the doors of anything..

On tap at Bavarian Bier Cafe, Gold Coast. Pours dark copper with creamy head and nice aroma of roasted malt. Smooth drinking with a lingering bitter finish. An excellent dunkel, will revisit in late Sept!

Deep brown. Like a brown cow. Off white pillowy head. Earth and slight aniseed sweet wort aromas. Chicory and charcoal present with a hint of poached pear and pan flavours.

Draught at Wiener Hofbräuhaus. Tastier than the Helles. But still no sensation.
