3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Presentation: 11.2 oz. green bottle, served in a steidel.
Appearance: Develops a one finger head that goes down into a thin ring. It’s dark caramel colored.
Smell: The aroma es mostly of sweet malt, nothing else.
Taste: The malt sweetness is very dominant and present but not cloying.
Mouthfeel: It feels a bit watery and smooth. It has medium carbonation and it’s easy to drink because of the sweetness.
Overall: Complex enough so as to not be boring, but easy enough to drink so as to not discourage drinkers not accustomed to this type of beer. It manages to be very sweet but balanced, not overwhelming. A very well made brew.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep clear mahogany brown. Off white head that starts about a half in or so and levels to film like cover. The spicy caramel malt aroma is subtle. Sweet rich toasted on the tongue. Has a spicy Earth like quality. Has a pleasantly and sweet after taste. Leaves me wanting more and I do. I’d certainly recommend this one.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Very sweet. Dark. Sour. Something just doesn’t fit. It kind of coats the tongue and that’s not good. Looks better than it tastes.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
50cl bottle at home. It pours a clean deep copper colour with a decent and lasting tan head. Aroma is very malty, caramel, some bread, but overall the aromas are somewhat muted. Taste is roasted malts, a lot of malts, some sweet caramel, somewhat watery and with a slight of bitterness at the finish. It’s moderate to light bodied with considerable carbonation and a clean and dry taste. For a dark type of beer it lacks the typical complex and rich flavors, but at least it has a malty and caramel character and it is very drinkable.
