Aroma was somewhat sweet with malt notes. initial taste was mostly caramel like malt notes, but was balanced out by a corny note. It seemed thick on the tongue, far thicker than the appearance indicated. carruthm (1187), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 2, 2008 A disappointment bottled. Better on tap but that doesn’t make up for how much worse it seemed bottled. kappldav123 (1901), Markkleeberg, Germany
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 6, 2008 The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Very zippy, much foam. Tastes malty-dry, could taste a little bit stronger. Sourish finish. Only an average beer! DruncanVeasey (2770), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2008 Bottle, 6.3%, in anticipation of next week’s trip to Munchen. Pale, pillowy and effervescing. One of those beers that is so highly carbonated you can SMELL the CO2 coming off it. Loads of sweet grassy hops and noble spuce also, with a sniff of almond hinting at the alcohol content. Despite the carbonation, slick and oily on the palate, sliding down oh so smoothly. Gentle piney hops and pale biscuity malt in perfect measure. Impossible to believe this contains 6.3%ABV. Could surely session it by the mass. We’ll see. Sweet, tasty, wickedly drinkable ale. oldrtybastrd (1846), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 11, 2008 Pours a nice medium golden/amber color. Aromas of wheat bread, caramel malts, and a touch of hops. Flavors of caramel, toffee, and a nice smooth finish. FishManLA (301), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 3, 2008 Very light in color for a Marzen. Color is rather pale yellow like a pale lager. Fluffy white head that dissipates quickly. Tastes and smells better than almost all pale lagers, though. Sweet and bread notes on the nose. Clean and smooth taste with notes of malt and just a hint of hops. A refreshing flavor for hot weather. Essentially no finish. biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 19, 2008 Poured a golden/yellow color with a white head that didnt last too long. Aroma had a bit of skunk to it. Also was kind of grainy with a bit of alcohol to the nose. Flavor was malty with just a small bit of hops coming through. Not much lacing. Mouthfeel was a tad thin. Drinkability was ok. Decent beer. mybestfriend (262), Gothenburg, Sweden
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 22, 2008 Pours a golden colour with a white head. Did not get much on the nose - some malts. Flavour is malty - caramel with some sweetness. The alcohol gives the beer a little zing. Finish is a bit weak.
