Commercial Description:
The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

12 oz. bottle: Pours a clear light gold with some white bubbles, initial aroma was faint skunk that disappeared thank God! (dumb green bottles), some pilsner malt and sweet fragrances, faint grass, hay and bread aromas, malt and bread taste with a small hop bite, not as tasty as Hofbrau’s Original beer, more of a pale pilsner, the Weihenstephaner Festbier (Octoberfest) is a pale version of a Octoberfest but has a lot of taste and body, I may try this Hofbrau in the 1/2 liter bottles which are brown or on draft for a sample that will not be skunky.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale golden with a one finger lasting white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of very fresh malt and light floral hops. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness. Different for a Märzen but good.

Bottled. Clear golden colour with dense head. Dry malt backbone in aroma, without the regular Märzen juiciness. Bit of hops here as well. Flavour is on the sweet side with alcohol shining through. Mouthfeel lacks that spritzy, citric freshness that I want in a Märzen. Good hoppy finish.

12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Clear pale yellow with white ring and some lace. Grassy lager aroma. Honeyish flavor with grassy bitterness in finish. Medium body and carbo. Fairly tasty. Not like a marzen but more like a flavorful helles.

Bottle poured a yellow-dull gold with a lot of carbonation streams. Good sized white head. Aroma was little funky , malty, grain and bread. Flavor was a little off; a lot of grass and corn/funkiness. Good for an event like oktoberfets, but didn’t like it very much.

Bottle. Yellow color, white head. Quite boring malty, grainy aroma. Malty flavor with a nice hopbalance. Quite bitter grassy finish.
