The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

12 oz bottle, pours a clear pale golden color with almost a greenish tint. Bubbles/fizz are present throughout the drink almost like champagne. Lacing persists on the side of the glass. Aroma is absent, hints of dough later on in the drink. Taste is malty and sweet, typical oktoberfest. Palate is smooth with no aftertaste. Not bad but not too impressive.

Se parece muito com uma Pilsen, mas o que a destaca é a presença forte do lúpulo em maior quantidade. Encorpada e refrescante.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2009 500 ML bottle in Germany. Pale gold color, with a light head. Light aroma, and non-lingering aftertaste. Over all not a bad beer, very striaght forward. A good beer of this style.

Bottled(500ml). -Golden coloured, medium sized white head, lively carbonation. Pleasant hoppy nose with touch of lemon. Sweet malty, hoppy and grainy with notes of hay. Light alcoholic and rather bitter finish. Simple and good oktoberfestbier. 6.3%.

Received a couple in my care package from Nathan. I do like an Oktoberfest beer. Has the color of melted butter with a large, white head. Minimal lacing. This beer is malty and sweet. Notes of banana and bread. Goes great with salty foods.

bottle. Clear pale golden yellow, large white head. Malty nose. Full-bodied, fruity (banana) with good malty flavours. Aromatic hops underneath, but not too shy. Quite well balanced - I liked it.

On tap at Mahars. Very lager looking in the glass, made me an instant skeptic. But wow is it flavorful. Full of spicy notes and fall goodness, really something good here.

12oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Pours a deep gold color with a small amount of foamy white head that lasts. Does not have the usual orange Oktoberfest hew. Aroma is hayish, sweet fruits, slight caramel, kinda like a mix of an octoberfest and a pilsner. Flavor is light and crisp, slightly skunk aftertaste, hay, and crisp hoppy finish.

The worst goddam Octoberfest beer I’ve ever had. The aroma is very malty, with corn, and other adjuncts. The color is a very pale ywellow, with a white head. This is thus far indistinguishable from a pale lager, the most odious of beers. The flavor very hoppy, and spicy. WTF??? This is not at all like a Marzen. There is a strong hoppy character on the finish. This waas not at all what I was expecting, and I wasn’t pleasantly surprised.

Bottle, part of a six pre fix from Canal’s Lawrenceville, NJ, bright golden color, brilliant, hefty head, wheaty aroma, plain, lager, taste is as plain as possible. about the norm for marzen, but that said, fairly lame. Sad and dreary, that’s oktoberfest, AFAICT. Someone correct me — what’s the point to oktoberfest-marzen styles?
