2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear, solid gold body with a receding, pure sudsy white head. Aroma has pils malt signatures but also strongly suggests sweet corn. Also includes an acrid yeast note. Sweet, pale malty flavor with honey tones and some moderate peppery bitterness. Like a generic pale lager with a little more gravity. No sign of toasted malts. Nothing compelling here.

Notes of honey and low, hardly balancing bitterness. Dull.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Frothy whiyte good mostly deminishing head. Yellow colour. Harsh bitter aroma . Hints of grass and straw. Not very balanced flavor. Only bitterness detected. Acerage finish. OK palate. Not the best Oktoberfest.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours straw thin white head, some lacing. Flavor is sweet, not sure I can really describe the rest. I guess corn and some bitterness. Not offensive, kind of bland, certainly not what I’m expecting for the style.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma cereal malt, yeast, and grassy hops. The appearance is pale yellow/gold with a smaller medium sized head. The flavor is sweet with what tastes like corn malt and is a little more acidic than I expected. The hops give it a grassy tastes as well. The palate is thin and right for the style. The aftertaste is lightly bitter with plenty of malt. Overall it seems drinkable but not great.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle 48F Lager Glass. Light malt aroma, with a bit of hops an only minimal skunk. Pours a very yellow color with a white head, fairly clear but much to yellow to fall within the oktoberfest category, had to recheck the label to make sure its an oktoberfest. Very pilsner like taste with only a small amount of malts fairly low malt taste for an oktoberfest. Light palate and light carbonation, finishes dry, but really put a bit more malt into this brew guys.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2007 Pronounced noble hop aroma followed by malty sweetness. Light amber color, almost pilsner-like, but no head retention. Noble hops register as astringent rather than bitter, and the flavor likewise has plenty of malt. Palate lacks carbonation, and an aggressive sulfur note (lager yeast) lingers in the finish. This tasted much better on draft at the last Dominion Beer Fest.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Found this one bottled at Binny’s Oktoberfest in St. Charles, Illinois. An unimpressive selection. Light reddish-yellow pour with a plain malty nose, and kind of dissapointingly plain throughout. Whatever.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz bottle: Bright golden with a clumpy, almost yeasty-looking film of a head. Sharp malty aroma. Full-bodied and malty with a deep noble hoppiness. Not in the style most of us have come to know as festbier, but this is a quality lager for a nice crisp fall day.
