The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

Ranks low not because it is not a good beer, It Is actually pretty good, however it fails as an Oktoberfest. Taste very much like a high-end Stella. I found no hint of the familiar Oktoberfest spices or taste.

Pours a clear yellow with a fluffy white head that left some lacing around the glass. The aroma is bready. The taste is sweet bready malts and some hop spices. It is a light mouthfeel with high drinkability.

Clear golden pour. World class head volume, lacing and retention. Very light nose of grainy biscuit and a subtle airy floral hop presence. Light medium body with a very smooth texture that has creamy aspects. Normal carbonation level with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a fair burst in the finish. The flavor profile is borderline outstanding - slight alcohol traces are evident near the finish. Reasonably intense for the style with a balance near perfection. Complexity is a bit lacking. Grainy biscuit leads off with a surprisingly slightly sweet background that only hints at caramel. The middle brings a very mild bitterness that perfectly balances the biscuit. Hop flavor is subtle and is herbal and floral in nature. As the finish fades, a slight alcohol flavor becomes uncovered.

Fizzy light lemon look and flavor. Grassy mild hops. Refreshing and hides the ABV well. Good on the beach I imagine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap. Served a clear golden color with a nice head that fades. Aroma of malt sweetness, hint of grain and hops. Taste of a mild caramel sweetness and bit of grain. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly light body, smooth with a festive feel. Good seasonal beer that goes down easy.

Bottle to pils glass Light lemon, bread, wheat, and other grains. Crystal clear yellowish amber with a lazy effervescence and a 1/2 cm creamy white head. Taste is malt, bread, a little skunk and pepper. Honestly, this ok. It’s not a great beer, by any means, but not too bad.
