COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

Pours a bright golden colour and has low carbonation for a lager it has a malty and slightly fruity aroma and it tastes very good for a lager to its smooth malty and fruity nice lager.

Malty, yeast, and according to me it feels a little light berry scent. Malty flavor and light citrus. Light bitterness in the aftertaste that sticks most in the upper part of the tongue a weak moment. Easy to drink beer but feels more watery. Pint on tap. Clear orange-golden with a lasting ring of cream. Nose is spicy maize, apple, dry mint and toffee. Tastes of sourish apple, dry eucalyptus, buttery maize and dry spicy pith. Medium body seems a tad harsh and out of sync. Has medium-high carbonation.

Bottle. Light hay and biscuit aromas, pours out a clear golden yellow, crystal clear. Very thin white head, fades quickly to mere bubbles. Thinner mouthfeel. Taste is lightly toasted grain with some biscuity flavors, not much going on here honestly. The alcohol at 6.3% is very well hidden however, going in blind you would never have convinced me this was any more than about 4.5%. Finish is clean and crisp. I wish the malts were more impressive than they were, I still say Ayinger holds the world’s best example of this style, a style when done right, is one of the best beer experiences you can have in my opinion.

Bottle from a six pack from Market Basket. Green bottles, huge display in the store so I dug down to an unopened case and selected one form there. Pale golden color with a decent sized bubbly white head that persists for a bit. aromas of spicy floral hops, rich bready crackery pilsner with just a hint of melanoid. The flavor is rich and malty with a hint of sweetness. Light spicy hop provides balance and a touch of pruney cooked sugars adds some complexity. Medium body and moderate carbonation. I’d drink these all day long given half the chance. Clean well made with some subtle flavors, I like.

Clear golden color. Almost no head. Not much aroma. Some bitterness. A bit dry and malty.

Tap@pikkis(thanks vastactiv!) Golden yellow. Pale malty festbier. Some honey, clean malty. These all taste the same right now, I’m just numbed to the finesses of lager beer tonight. Drank well though.

Spina @ oktoberfest Genova. Chiara con schiuma persistente. Corpo leggero, carbonazione accentuata, sentori di fiori morti. Non male. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold

Pretty good Oktoberfest beer. Some fruity notes mostly banana. Would do better with food.
