COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

Hoppy aroma.Golden appearance with good head. I would not call this an Oktoberfest beer. It’s more like a crisp, slightly malty lager. Not worth seeking out.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2015 Golden color with white head. Aroma has grains, bread crust and alcohol. Taste is slightly sweet at first, grainy and bready but gets more bitter in the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Easy drinking and quite refreshing.

Pours a clear yellow with a fluffy white head that left some lacing around the glass. The aroma is bready. The taste is sweet bready malts and some hop spices. It is a light mouthfeel with high drinkability.

Clear golden pour. World class head volume, lacing and retention. Very light nose of grainy biscuit and a subtle airy floral hop presence. Light medium body with a very smooth texture that has creamy aspects. Normal carbonation level with a bit of effervescence in the middle and a fair burst in the finish. The flavor profile is borderline outstanding - slight alcohol traces are evident near the finish. Reasonably intense for the style with a balance near perfection. Complexity is a bit lacking. Grainy biscuit leads off with a surprisingly slightly sweet background that only hints at caramel. The middle brings a very mild bitterness that perfectly balances the biscuit. Hop flavor is subtle and is herbal and floral in nature. As the finish fades, a slight alcohol flavor becomes uncovered.

Rating #1251 - 12.09.2014 - On tap @revolutionyeg. Clear golden coloured pour with a bubbly white head. Aroma has a hint of malty sweetness, and a bold earthy hop aroma. Medium carbonation. Bubbly, dry mouthfeel, medium-bodied. Light bitterness in the finish, quite smooth. Excellent brew.
