The Munich Beer Festival, or Oktoberfest, is an event of superlatives - it’s the largest popular festival in the world, staging in the beer metropolis of Munich. Millions of visitors from all over the world flock along every year to enjoy its very special atmosphere. For this occasion, Hofbräu brews a rich, full-bodied beer which goes down ideally with traditional Bavarian cuisine. With its deliciously bitter taste and alcoholic content of 6.3% volume, Hofbräu Oktoberfestbier is as special as the Beer Festival itself.

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2004 Draft. Pours very well, with a foamy German type head. Has a nice roasted malt aspect to it, which actually calls to mind a well-made Vienna lager. In other words, this is a pretty okay beer. The texture and mouthfeel come across like a standard American "dark beer," which can get in the way of one's enjoyment. 2004 rating: Color is light as a Hamm's these days, which can also detract. They keep making them lighter in germany to match the lowest common denominator in drinker preferences...

Pours a completely clear, light yellow coloured beer with very small white head. Aroma is typical for lager beer with the cereal notes and hops, this has some herbs as well. The taste is surprisingly sweet at first but gains some bitterness rather quickly. The finish is quite short and little spicy. Very easy beer to drink with its medium carbonation and refreshing feel. Nothing too special but better than I expected.

Following the tradition cervesara, I purchased and tested a octobertfest. I knew that this beer was not my favorite. It looks like a beer made to fill the belly of drink, and return it to fill your belly. I like most enjoy a good beer

Découverte dans la Saveur Box. Bière blonde allemande moins amère qu’une pils allemande. Pas trop mal.

Grainy and bready in front, followed by light grassy and floral hop notes, a crispy bready/caramel flavors that you expected from the style with a tiny warm note. In mouth has a medium body with moderate-low carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that turns into a creamy crisp finish, high drinkability .
