Draught at the Town Crier. Pours a clear gold with a small diminishing frothy white head. Aroma of grain, grass, vegetal notes, light sugary sweetness and apples. Flavour is grainy and grassy along with apples, light vegetal notes and straw. Average bodied. A pretty average beer.

bartlebier (464) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - APR 9, 2013
50cl bottle, Edeka. - Very pedestrian typical grainy Helles, palpably at ease with its modest origins as macro-batched wort and its second life as liquid cardboard box to quench the masses. Not in the least refreshing, tired, hops (extracts?) struggling to free themselves from their sticky malt grip. - Maybe this old-school lazy tradition-keeper of a beer makes more sense from draught, in a 1L mug, in a leafy Biergarten, in June, in Bavaria...

Head: medium sized, white, frothy, diminishing. Color: yellow-gold and clear. Aroma: quite weak, malt sweetness and some hops. Taste: mostly sweet, some hop bitterness with a sourish tint. Finish is bitter, but weak as well. A quite ordinary and sweetish lager.

Pours a very pale straw color with a huge white head consisting of tiny bubbles that sticks around a while. Skunky aroma. Taste is a sharp noble hop bite. Very clean and refreshing. Not bad at all.

BlackHaddock (2367) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 11, 2013
Half-litre in the new Berlin Hofbrau Hall: 24 Feb 2013. Usual helles/plisner/lager look and feel: bright gold, clear and clean, thin snowy white head that doesn’t like hanging around too long. Neither sweet nor dry: neither hoppy or malty, a run of the mill brew that I enjoyed because of the place and company where I had it. Nothing stands this apart from the thousands of simular brews around the world: refreshing but standard fare really. Just above your average mass produced lager type beers.
