Had one of these at Munchen, San Diego River Walk. Excellent Helles, one of the better ones I’ve had.

Perfect German Dortmunder that is best enjoyed in liter form in a biergarten.

the aroma is malty and spicy with some shades of grains, flowers and hay... the taste is rough but clear, malty with bright hoppy bitterness... the aftertaste is bitter and rather dry...

Fresh grassy smell, clear golden yellow appearance with large head that quickly dissipates leaving little lacing. Large initial carbonation was quite surprising and almost typical of a mass produced adjunct lager style but the fizz mellows out after a while. Taste is very interesting, very crisp and refreshing, grainy opening but some medium strong hop flavours with a hint of grapefruit. Had only one bottle, so easy to drink it got guzzled very quickly!

12oz bottle someone left in my fridge, pours a clear gold with some tight, white head. Nose has honey, bread and yeast, some straw, a little perfume. Flavor is honey sweet, yeast, white bread, a little lemon, some light soap. Sweet finish.

Bottle. Gold with a large white head that fades but never quite disappears. Aroma of crackers, honey, pepper, coriander seed. a fair bit of honeyed sweetness, mild spicy bitterness. Some slight vegetal notes. Pretty good but not very exciting.

Bottle from the LCBO. Clear and bright golden with a healthy and creamy white head. Aroma and flavour are both bang on style, with mildly sweet toasted grain maltiness, grassy hops with a slightly peppery backnote, and a bit of lemon balm in the moderately bitter finish. Quite nice, and very underrated here.

500ml on tap @ Bavarian Beer Cafe. Grainy malt nose. Pale yellow beer with solid white head. Medium carbonation. Sweet and zingy in the mouth. Sweet malt finish with a hint of grainy bitterness. Easy drinking, great thirst quencher.
