One of my all time favorite lagers. Aroma of Bavarian hops. Great balance, clean, refreshing taste. Good hop presence. Sweet sticky caramel malt aftertaste. The drinkability is second to none. Best served by the litre at the Hofbrauhaus with a Bavarian dish. You will be singing and clanking your mug in no time.

(Tap) Golden color with lasting white head. The beer was sweeter than I expected, but was somewhat balanced by malts in the aftertaste. Pretty good.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2006 Nice white head. Definitly hints of sweet malts. Distinct flaavor of a slight German dry hoppiness.

Bottle. Pours golden with a decent white head. Aroma of sweet malts, citrus, and mild hops. Flavor is malty, sweet , slight citrus, and a hoppy bitter dry ending (mild). Good body, decent brew.

Clear but robust golden orange colored body with a thin filmy head. Nose is full of acetone and chemical scents. Flavor is initially crisp and slightly sweet, turning to sour grains and corn husk over the middle and into a sour and semi-dry finish. Body is fairly well weighted, with some chewy, slightly thick cracker and biscuit malt flavors. Leaves a plasticy sour residue in the mouth. Unoffensive but lacking anything worth interest.

This is one of those brews that I stayed away from because I knew it was good, but I figured it wouldn’t knock my socks off, so I didn’t bother to drink it again. Well, that was an exercise in poor judgement!! The beer pours a golden tan, with a nice head, especially if the beer is poured at 44 degrees or so. A sweet-n-sour aroma. A very smooth taste, and not over-poweringly " European ". If there’s corn in it, then it’s a good example of why the Big Four as far as ingredients go is obsolete. A very crisp, and refreshing beer, with a nice aftertaste.

On tap at Bilbo Baggins in Alexandria, VA. Pours a light yellow and golden color. Smells sweet and citrus-y, hints of lemon. The same thing can be said of the taste. Very sweet. Hop finish balances out the sweetness upon swallowing but this does not make the beer bitter. A very good, different beer.

50 cl bottle. Golden clear colour with a nice fluffy head. Light smooth aroma of malt and some light hoppieness too. Tastefull flavour of both malt and hops in a good harmie. Ends up dry and little bitter.

Draught at Steinkellers in Oxford, OH. Malty lager with a white head. There was an overwhelming flavor of honey and sweetness but still balanced. Very nice lager.

This is a mild lager, but very well done. A clear, golden color with a firm white head. Taste is on the malty side but an appreciable amount of hops. This is my type of golden lager, not dominated by skunky Bohemia hops.
