2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 seymour (1099) - Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - JUL 6, 2012Thanks, Elliot. Tasted from 12oz green bottle into tulip. It poured a clear pale golden color with creamy white head, somewhat lasting. Overall impression is subdued, almost nuetral, but low aromas and flavors of pils malt, mild grains, noble hops, peppery yeast. Somewhat malty, but balanced and well-attenuated. A bit like a pilsner, but mushier. Light-medium body, medium carbonation, dry lager finish. Served really cold, it’s a fine summer refreshment, but nothing memorable.

Light, tangy helles from Hofbrau. Light grassy and citrus elements in the aroma, some grapefruit in the taste. Appearance is kind of flat, almost no head. Very drinkable, and light enough for the warmer months.
0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 Beerathon (590) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 14, 2013
This beer is lifeless from the way it looks, smells, and to the way it tastes. Reminds me of mass produced macros.

Draught at the Town Crier. Pours a clear gold with a small diminishing frothy white head. Aroma of grain, grass, vegetal notes, light sugary sweetness and apples. Flavour is grainy and grassy along with apples, light vegetal notes and straw. Average bodied. A pretty average beer.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 bartlebier (459) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - APR 9, 2013
50cl bottle, Edeka. - Very pedestrian typical grainy Helles, palpably at ease with its modest origins as macro-batched wort and its second life as liquid cardboard box to quench the masses. Not in the least refreshing, tired, hops (extracts?) struggling to free themselves from their sticky malt grip. - Maybe this old-school lazy tradition-keeper of a beer makes more sense from draught, in a 1L mug, in a leafy Biergarten, in June, in Bavaria...
