2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Drinking this from my Arrogant Bastard glass that says, "fizzy yellow beer is for wussies." How ironic. Hofbräu München Original is a fizzy yellow beer. Here’s the verdict: it doesn’t pack a punch. Nothing stands out. Nothing about it makes me want to drink more. Smells like hay/bread. Small white head that turns into a fine ring around the glass. Doesn’t taste like much. Reminds me of Miller Lite but a bit thicker. "A Munich beer with character." I beg to differ. It’s a Munich beer, but it lacks character. I’ll probably finish the glass, but I won’t enjoy it very much.

Keg@wirral beer festival, port sunlight. Golden beer highly carbonated with small head. Aroma of pale malts and bread. Taste is bready, pale malts and a mild hop bittering. Ok beer, but too carbonated for me.

500 ml bottle from LCBO. Clear yellow, white head. Nose is mostly deep grainy malt and some floral hops. Mild hoppy and sweet on the taste. Flavourful for a lager.

Clear golden color, big white head that quickly disappeared. Some lacing. Medium body, average carbonation. Medium sweet, light bitter taste. Aroma of hay, malt and apple. Slightly dry. Not a fan of the style, but this one is OK.

UPDATED: OCT 31, 2014 500ml bottle from Piligrim in Moscow. Pours gold with a frothy white head. Lacing on the glass. Aroma is hoppy and grassy. Light hop taste with medium bitterness. So good after so many Eastern European pale lagers.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottle) I like this beer a lot. It’s on the bitter and hoppy side for its style, and has a strong bready malt aroma relative to its light body and color. I also can’t notice the alcohol in the aroma, which is a plus for me. Very refreshing. I notice this beer foams excessively if the bottle isn’t cold when it is opened. Interestingly, it doesn’t pour with much head though. The only thing I dislike about this beer is a faint sourness and a slightly metallic quality in the finish, but I find this metallic quality is typical of German beers, and this one is by no means the worst offender.

Piwo o zlocistym kolorze z wielka i trwala puszysta biala piana. Czyste, klarowne. W smaku slodowe lekko goryczkowe i ozezwiajace. Dosc lekkie i typowe dla stylu piwo.
