Pours a murky dirty brown with a thick chunky head and tons of steady carbonation. The nose has prominent bananas and a mild spice note with good German ester aromas. The flavor is rather sweet up front with mild bananas and area bland ester notes. Really flat and bland flavor profile overall.

500ml bottle pours a dirty medium brown color with a finger of white head that has decent retention and leaves some nice lacing rings. Aroma is pleasant with caramel and cereal grains with a hint of yeast. Taste is a caramel and grainy malt sweetness with some grassy hop bitterness which are balanced nicely. Light to medium bodied with abundant carbonation. A very flavorful but easy to drink brew that I rather enjoyed sampling. Quite refreshing.

Cloudy brown, feintly salty taste, slightly grainy on palate, decent length.

Dark brown color with persistent head. Yeast and spicy aroma. At taste is light sweet and medium bodied with roasted flavour.

Hazy red brown body with a large white head. Aroma-taste: cloves, summerfruit and rye bread, spicy and balanced. Medium bodied.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2013 Best when poured at the Hofbrauhaus in Munchen. I am particularly fond of this style, which is why I rate it so highly. Nice caramel notes, wonderful appearance and very drinkable.

Hofbrau schwarze weisse 5,1% in la Palma las cancajos. Fles 0,5 liter. Hazy brown colour with small white head. Lots of carbonation. Tarwe aroma also some roast. Tastes like wheat with some roasted malts. Medium to full body with a more clove than banana finish. Nice beer

Brown caramel colour with medium head, tiny carbonation bubles. Aroma is dominated by the yeast, which is fine as it brings up the banana and caramel. Taste is full of banana, cloves and malty caramel. Body is medium with thick texture and good carbonation. Finish is short.

Bottle from mein-biershop.de Brown color with huge off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, banana, wheat, yeast. Banana, wheat, caramel in taste together with hints of chocolate. Sweet, banana finish. Little bit too sweet, but drinkable.
