Non sono un amante della weiss ma questa mi intriga. Forte e decisa. Gusto pieno. Da riprovare.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Maß @ Las Vegas Hofbräuhaus. Big fucken mug offered @$13.99+3.00. Called simply their "dark wheat beer", so i believe this is the correct entry. Aroma is typically heavy on the esters. Lots of apple, pear, and banana. Some spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Flavors of caramel, apple spice, soft malt. A hint of smoke. Moderately sweet. Some banana and vanilla. Definitely some spiciness but pretty subdued. High carbonation. Some tartness on the finish with just a bit of toast. Nothing spectacular and certainly not from a great weisse brewery but this is pretty decent where I’m @ just now. Tæmë thë chüg.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle poured in a mug.
A: Pours a chestnut cloud color with a medium beige and very fluffy head. Medium retention. In fact it never disappears totally leaving some nice lacings
S: Strong on banana esters as expected. Wheat and roasted malts. Honey and yeasts. Biscuity and bready
T: As the nose. Wheat, roasted malts, honey, yeast, banana. Dry and delicate
M: Creamy full bodied. Good carbonation
O: Very drinkable beer. Creamy and pleasant

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(Bottled) Hazy darkish brown with a small head. Dark-fruity, mildly toffee-wheaty-malty aroma. With dry banana hints. Dry, wheaty flavor with lots of banana esters and some roastiness. Medium-bodied, medium-carbonated, slightly foamy palate. A reasonably nice Dunkelweizen - quite similar to the regular one.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very dark brown color with some sediment. Good wheat aroma, some bubblegum, and just a hint of roasted malt. Flavor is full and sweet. There is a light citrus bite, as well as some banana, and a little bubblegum. This bottle might have been past its prime, but still a good beer.

.5 liter bottle. Pours a hazed woody nutty brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma is nutty, toast, mixed between spicy peppery phenolics/clove and also fruity esters banana, green raisin, and even slight green apple- toast, nuts, dough and yeast. Flavor is earthy, leathery, toast, biscuit, fruity esters, caramel, slight mineral ash hint, light banana, and toffee in the end. Dry and earthy with a light dry finish. Ok.

Aroma: Very strong banana aroma, plus figs, apricots, etc. Some coffee too. Super fresh.
Mouthfeel: Medium and foamy mouthfeel.
Taste: Super fruity (see above), slightly tart, and just a touch of bitterness. I like it very much.
Finish: Very dry and fruity. No bitterness whatsoever.
Overall: A very good example. Superb for refreshment.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
50cl bottle, fresh. Not your typical Dunkelweizen, with a near-opaque acajou colour, notes of porter-like roasted malts, yet light mouthfeel, this surprisingly tasty, oxymoronic beer is aptly named. Pear from the yeast, milk chocolate and some char from the malts, cinnemon and pepper spice from well-dosed hops. Interesting beer on all levels, very well and cleanly executed for the notoriously murky & moorish Dunkelweizen style.
