3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml. bottle. Pours a big head, that doesn’ t last much, leaving some lace. Colour is not really black, as the name suggests, is more brown reddish. Aroma of sulphur, yeast, ripe fruits, dates or prunes, clove. Good mouthfeel, with the sulphur flavour, taste of banana, fruits, hints of caramel. If I have to say something bad i tcould be about the not so strong body, but I could have some more of this.

0,5 l bottle, bought at Sörspecialista.hu
Poured classic. Hazy brown, superb, stable, creamy and foamy tan head. Yes! At the first blick the aroma is moderated. Light smoke, citrusses and barley with wheat. After a while the spicies come out. Clove, cinnamon, vanilla, toasted caramel. At the first slip the caramel arrives with citrussy, fruity tastes. Clove and vanilla again. Lemony-yeasty aftertatse with some toasty caramel in the background. Fine and pleasant.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
50cl bottle Pours a stunning damson colour, with shades of gold and pink around a purple/brown centre. There are steady bubbles and a nice generous head -perfect.
The nose has over-ripe pears and caramel.
The taste has toffee-apple, then pears again.
After all that, the palate is a little lighter in the start and middle sections than expected. A nice clean finish though.
Overall, a very nice dunkel, though it may have been monumental, had the palate been a bit more chunky.

On tap @ Bavarian Bier Cafe in Sydney. Cloudy dark drown pour with a large pillowy off white head. Toasty aroma with bananas, bread, cloves and some nutty elements. Palate is smooth and medium bodied with nice sweet malt flavours and an easy drinkability. Less chewy than most other Bavarian wheat beers.
