At hofbrau, Hamburg. Dark golden coloured and unclear. Has a white head, fully lasting. Faint spicy aroma, sweet and yeasty too. Something burnt and sharp. Creamy texture and lively carbonation.

Draught in the Berlin Version. Hazy orange lemon with a fluffy white head. Aroma is light wheat and bubblegum. Flavour is a watered down version of a weisse. Texture is thin.

Probably my favorite kindl. Nose and taste of resins, citrus, hays and cereal. Light and easy to drink. If you’re going to sit around in Munich and drink beer all day, this is the beer to do it with. As a stand alone beer, this would rate much lower. Rated 11/27/02

Bottle, at RBNAG -09. It’s an almost clear, golden beer topped by a dense, medium sized off-white head. Banana, pale malts and some cloves on the nose. Wheat, pale malts and a little fruityness in the mouth, dry and with medium body fullness. There’s also some bitterness, and a slightly unpleasant touch of dry paper. Some bitterness in the finish too. Decent, nothing more. 091108

Sampled from bottle@RBNAG 2009, Vatlandsvåg. Firm fingerthick white head. Body is golden orange, slight unclear. Quite phenolic with a nice banana smell. The same goes for the flavor, distinct flavor of cloves and banana. Faint caramel and yeast. Light-bodied with a high carbonation level. A decent Weisse, considering the low abv.

500 ml bottle sampled@RBNAG 2009, Vatlandsvåg. Dim, dark orange body with a big white head. Aroma is fruity yeast, esters and spices. Flavor is mild malty, a hint of caramel, yeast and cardboard. Thin and watery body with a rather weak flavor. I like the idea of low alcohol Weissbeer, but it is actually not that light in alcohol and very light in flavor. Maybe that was the intension?

Bottle, ABV 3.2%, at RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Hazy golden colour, big to moderate head. Pleasant aroma of cloves and banana. Thin body. The flavour has some citrus and cloves. Refreshing, but boring for a Hefe-Weissbier.
