330 ml bottle into weizen glass, bottled on 8/1/2014. Pours hazy bright golden color with a 2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, orange, banana, pear, apple, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, orange, banana, pear, apple, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of earthy yeast spice and slight bready tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, orange, banana, pear, apple, clove, wheat, cracker, bread, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish or a good bit. Damn nice robustness and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavor; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Hefeweizen. All around great robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Golden blonde appearance with that traditional citrus-like smell of a hefeweizen. Pours very smooth and leaves zero head at the top of the pint glass. The beer is a tad bit cloudy as you can not see directly through to the other side. Tastes like a typical hefeweizen beer with less orange aftertaste than a Blue Moon. This is a very delicious beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 15A). Bottle 50 cl - Batch 11:28. AROMA: wheat malt aroma mixed with some clove and vanilla. some esters are present (banana-like). APPEARANCE: dark gold and hazy. large white head with good retention. TASTE: wheat and banana flavour with some vanilla notes. low bitterness with a sweet finish. PALATE: medium-low body with high carbonation. OVERALL: an average hefeweizen with all the characteristics although a bit more atenuated.

Bottle: Muddled, super cloudy pear-yellow body, not as dense or vibrant of a color as I’d expect or like. Foamy, bubbly white head fades quickly to a medium sized collar around the glass. Huge banana bread nose with underlying notes of salt water taffy, grass, & faint lemon zest. There’s a slight dish soap aroma in the back that is distracting... Otherwise it smells nice. Flavor is loaded with sweet banana candy, under-baked bread, dough, mild clove, & clumpy yeast. A hint of grassy lemon zest & milled grains in the finish, too. A little thin, but not bad.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Norway, on order. Clear golden color, good foam. Medium aroma intensity; very fruity, distinct bananas and some malt. Medium body & complexity. A little sweetness at first, but balances very well. Enjoyable

Bottle from the fridge. Aroma is banana ad malt. Appearance is pale yellow without the typical cloudiness of the genre. Head is high and white after a vigorous pour, with minimal lacing. Light body with medium sweet taste and some creamy banana finish. Unexceptional hefe that’s a bit too thin/watery for a repeat purchase.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2015 On tap, poured into a hefeweizen glass. The aroma is sweet with notes of primarily banana, with a light lemon and light clove as well. It a murky yellow brown hue with a soft, soapy white foam head that retains pretty well and leaves an abundant snowdrift lace. The taste is a mellow, medium sweet with a light spice bitter. The beer is creamy and light with a fluffy carbonation. Flavors of lemon and banana come through with a light, dry clove. There’s more clove character, along with a lactose creaminess, at the finish. The aftertaste is light and short.
