The citrus I get on this one is a nice change from the strong banana that I usually get with Hefeweizens. Nice carbonation, medium mouth feel. Smooth, easy drinking, great for a hot summer day like today. The price on this is great for such a solid and interesting beer.

Bottle from SB. Cloudy yellow with a thick white head. Fruity and spicy notes. Fruit, malt, spices and vegetables. Medium body with a short dry finish.

bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Clear light amber, white head cover, dots and spots of lace. Taste is malt and wheat that add light spice, particularly coriander, on the swallow, adding mild floral hops in the finish. A refreshing, light brew, good for all-day drinking.

Poured hazy gold. Very active carbonation but only a thin white head. Faint aroma of banana. Mild and slightly sweet. Not bad.

Finally, a real weizen that’s made it this far west without becoming skunked. Oh how I’ve missed these flavors. Banana, bubblegum, cloves, weizen through and through. Only knocks against this are: bottle is too small to fill my half liter weizen glass, body is a bit thin and no sediment. Solid hefe, tastes great!

Had as Hefe Weizen. Pours a hazy golden with a thick, if not too persistent, ivory head. Crisp, wheaty aroma has hints of fruit and hops. Flavor is quite wheaty and pleasant, with a nice undertone of lemon. Smooth texture has good firmness and fizz. Whatever it is called, prost!

Aroma is a little sweet. Taste is mainly wheat with almost no fruitiness. Overall decent, but not the best of the style.

Bottle looks simple but okay. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts mild but not washy, fine malty, modest yeasty. Some fruity notes of Banana and apricot. Not bad!

The Hefe was definitely the best of the five beers I tasted on draft at the Hofbrauhaus in Rosemont, outside of Chicago. You can’t really get any more authentic German Hefe than this. A true classic. The pour was a dark straw color with a huge and pillowy white head. The nose was full of fruity maltiness and hoppiness. The flavors were really well-balanced and delicious, with classic notes of banana and clove. I also got just enough hops for flavor and balance. This should be used as one of the benchmarks for a true German-style Hefe.

Beer pours a hazed yellow-gold with a 1" white head that lasts. The aroma is wheat, citrus, and spices. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavour is wheat, spices, yeast and citrus. Quite refreshing.
