COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A darker, maltier version of the Weizen beer with the same banana and clove characteristics. It's less sweet, but has a wonderful roasted flavor.

Great example of a German hefe. Bananas, cloves. It’s a nice hazy orangish yellow with a beautiful white head. Great stuff!

The August seasonal hath returned. Gigantic dimpled glass mug. Pours a very cloudy orange color with a small bone white head. Really nice, ’big’ German hefeweizen that doesn’t hold back on the flavor- banana, clove, wheat, melon, and some funky and rustic notes that really bring it up a notch. Big sweet malts. Medium-bodied, with a malty, wheaty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Super cool beer. Beats the other hefes to come out of here.

After going to the Hofbrauhaus for five years, I finally got around to this one. As the description points out, this is simply a darker version of their standard hefeweizen. It draws a pale cloudy brown with the expected thick eggwhite-like head that lasts all the way down. Very tasty. Has that maltier, caramely flavor you’d expect from a darker roast, but the wonderful banana and clove refreshing flavor is also there too. A great weizen!

This was one of my favorites. Nice yeast esters. Spices are pleasant with banana and cloves. Not much bitterness and highly drinkable. Good because were drinking Liters.

Draft. April brew of the month. Dark cloudy brown with medium frothy white head. Aroma was medium wheat with a sweet malt tone. Flavor was traditional weizen with a medium sweet finish. Very nice change of pace from standard German brews.
