Hofbräu Light is a lager beer which has been brewed lighter in body and with less alcohol, which is approx. 3.6% alcohol by volume, but with a lovely hop flavor as it is typical for German beers. A BEER WITH LESS ALCOHOL & CALORIES BUT GREAT TASTE! Type: Bottom-fermented Lager.

on tap-pours a white head with trailing lace and clear/pale yellow color. Aroma is sweet grain/corn. Taste is sweet grain/corn, secondary spice hops. Nice for a light.

Light gold and bubbly with a medium white head. Not much in the way of aroma of any kind. Very light and crisp but as with the aroma there is not a lot of flavor to challenge someone. A good introductory beer to the masses who go to Hofbrauhaus and can't find their security blanket beers.

Draft. Creamy barley malt aroma. Pale yellow with small head. Creamy barley malt and hay flavor. Light body. Pretty good for a low alcohol - would rather have this than any other light beers.

Half liter at the brewery, thanks to Andrew. Clear golden color.Thin white head. Couple ropes and splotches of lace. Good head retention. Lighter body. Kind of a light bite in the texture. Sort of smooth, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Taste is a lot worse than expected. Very much like a coors light or something. Moderate bitter, big bite in the finish. Not much aroma to speak of, wet bread, lightly peppery. Mostly watery with a totally unnecessary bite. Like sex in a canoe. Not good at all, very sub par for a bavarian style lager. Par for the course for a cheap macro-lager that’s probably sat around for a bit.

Lite? Not a Miller product! And listed "Light" at the brauhaus. Anyway, not much love for this one from RB so far. Pours a clear yellow-gold with a small white head in my gigantic dimpled glass mug. The aroma is pretty faint, with some pale malts, grass, and cracker notes. The flavor, however, is nice- straw, pale malts, crackers, and a little bit of a grassy hop note but really subtle. Light-bodied, with a dry mouthfeel and medium-high carbonation. Pretty solid.

Draught at the brewery. Very pale yelllow color, watery appearance overall. Has a terrible corn and spoiled celery aroma. Also has a bad buttery sour vegetable flavor with a fizzy texture. Bad overall, not much more I can say about this one. The sour aftertaste is especially terrible.

Unfortunately I didn’t take down good tasting notes beyond the numbers for this one!

On draft at HBH. Looks decent; light with good head and carbonation. Smells nice and wheat. Tastes okay, which is good for a light beer. Not bad.

On tap at Hofbrauhaus Newport, March 2010. Just what you would expect. A lighter version of the lager. Both in colour and flavour. Not really a lot else to say. Inoffensive if bland.
