Commercial Description:
Specialty which is born in Munich and brewed in Pittsburgh. This beer is loved by the world. Rich fairly sweet old style wheat beer. The taste is a wonderful combination of banana and clove.

BIg foamy white head over a nice cloudy golden body, light aroma of wheat, clove, and banana. Flavor is decent, some banana and wheat, a little citrus, not watery, pretty good

Draught at the BrewPub: Aroma of wheat, slight spices, and slight banana. Poured yellow/flaxen in color with a small, dense, white head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Very sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of wheat, light banana, and slight spices. Light to medium body. Tingly texture. Average to lively carbonation. Wheat, slight banana, and hint of spice finish. Not much to this beer.

On tap at Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh. An OK hefe. Aroma was decent. Light malt with a hint of banana. Pour was beautiful and how a beer should look. Cloudy gold (but a little clearer than most hefes) with a huge pillowy 3 finger white head that you needed a shovel to get through. Taste was a little off. Very little carbonation which, to me, is needed by the style. There was a sweet perfumey taste that overpowered the beer. Decent for a huge brewpub.

On tap. Nice banana clove aroma. Light sulfury hops and some yeast. Cloudy golden body with thin lacing white head. Medium light body with medium thin carbonation. Starts sweet with a bit of banana and some clove. Good malt-wheat sweetness and good flavor. Very little bitterness. Decent hefe.
