COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Less alcohol but yet full in taste. The Pittsburgh Hofbräu premium lager has been brewed lighter in body and flavor to respond to the American taste. Similar to other light lagers but much fresher and more flavorful.

(draft @ Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh, PA) Clear gold pour with a thin white head. Light corn and grassy aroma. Mild flavor. Some grass and hops and some light and dry malts. Very watery and plain.

On tap at hofbrau haus. Pours clear with a touch of yellow. Not much good on the nose. It’s a tad off-putting in it’s unidentifiableness. Not much on the tongue. Fizzy. Finishes clean. Pass!

Sample at Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh. Pours clear yellow with a medium white head. Aroma is faint malt and noble hop. Flavor starts with crisp noble hop, then some malt steps in before a watery finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a very clear golden color with a medium white head. A light grainy nose. A smooth flavor; somewhat watery, but fits in a nice grainy and sweet flavor. Very clean. Good. Very much like the Premium lager.

On tap at Hofbräuhaus Pittsburgh on our way to RBSG. Pours a clear yellow, with a medium sized white head. Rivals the Premium Lager for “who can look more like water with a head”. Skunky and grainy on the nose, skunky and grainy in the mouth. Not good. Nasty bitterness on the finish.

Compared to macro lights, I guess this was awesome. But... light beer just seemed out of place here. It wasn’t all that much lighter in color than the regular lager, not sure if that says something good about it or bad about the lager. Tried some of Vanessa’s and otherwise stayed away.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2012 A very good light beer if you ask me. A grassy/grain taste that is very drinkable.

Draught at BrewPub: Aroma of pale malts, grains, and a hint of grass. Poured pale yellow in color with a small, white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is slightly sweet. Tastes of grains and a little grass. Light body. Thin, watery texture. Average carbonation. Grassy finish. Not good.
