Had on Draft @ the Pittsburgh Hofbrauhaus .. . Pours a shimmering gold . . awesome foam, lacing too .. . light cereal and good bitters .. . a fantastic lager! .. . drama on the range.

Appearance: clear, golden yellow, white foamy head
Aroma: roasted malty sweetness, no hops
Taste: malt forward, little to no hop, medium carbonation
Clean lager, typical of style, classic example without being exceptional.

(draft @ Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh, PA) Clear amber pour with a thick white head. Subtle malty aroma with a very light and dry hop note. Smooth and sweet flavor at the start. Lots of caramel malts mixing with a very light dryness and finishing off with a lightly bitter aftertaste. Smooth and drinkable.

This is a pretty average lager. If you find yourself in Pittsburgh hofbrau please get the hefe weisen.

Draft at Hofbrau haus. Not as off-putting as the light. Not much on the nose or tongue. Crisp and clean and perfectly inoffensive.

Dark yellow with a white cover. Aroma is sweet malts, some light hay, grass. Taste is on the sweet side again, bready, would like a touch more hops for balance, but it is good enough to drink by the liter.

Appearance is golden with a medium white head. Aroma is a bland lager. Taste is typical lager malts with minimal character. Overall it isn’t bad and is very drinkable, which is almost perfect for the atmosphere.

Sample at Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh. Clear yellow pour with a thick white head. Malty aroma with a touch of noble hops. Grainy malt flavor with some noble hop before a thin finish.

On tap at the Brewpub Christmas Eve. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head. A smooth grainy honey nose. The flavor is nice; a Euro lager, grainy, some sweetness akin to honey, fairly clean. Enjoyable.

On tap at Hofbräuhaus Pittsburgh on our way to RBSG. Pours a clear light yellow, watery looking, with a medium sized white head. Skunky sulfurous grain. Medium bodied, grainy. Lightly dry bitter finish. The best thing about this is that apart from the nose, it was not offensive. Bleh.
